Romantic Restaurants In Singapore

With so many variables—food, ambience, location—finding a restaurant to bring bae can be tricky, especially if it is to celebrate special occasions such as an anniversary or even the night to pop the question. Below, we’ve compiled a list of romantic restaurants in Singapore that sets them apart from a usual date night.

1. Khiri

Situated among an unassuming row of shops on Jalan Besar is Khiri, a vibrant new restaurant specialising in Northern Thai cuisine. The location might make you feel like you’re going on a mystery date with bae, but once inside, the smells and atmosphere will transport you to Chiang Mai itself.

The great thing about this restaurant is, if you or your date can’t decide on what to order, just go for the eight-course tasting menu priced at $148++ per person. With multiple courses, you’ll get to indulge in dishes like Lemongrass Chicken & Prawn Cake, Hokkaido White Corn Soup with Hand Dived Scallops, Dry Aged Barramundi, and Grilled Iberico Pork – Esaan style.

Khiri’s team is run by Head Chef Miller Mai and Chef Owner K-Jin Lim who both have extensive experience with Southeast Asian flavours. And the menu is changed quite frequently, so check out their website to see what’s their latest creations before booking a table. Or just go and enjoy being surprised, because why not?

2. SanSara

After undergoing a massive refurbishment, the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore has brought Awadhi cuisine to the Lion City with the opening of SanSara. Although similar to North Indian Mughlai flavours, Awadhi cooking techniques differ with its style of preparation.

Called dum-style, the dishes are mostly slow-cooked using a deep bottomed pan, and covered with a layer of kneaded flour that traps in moisture, resulting in extra tender meats and morsels. Awadhi cooking dates back 5,000 years ago, so expect to feel like royalty when dining on these recipes that have been passed down through generations.

For a truly exquisite experience, try their Signature Lamb Curry ($36) with a distinct blend of spices, the Awadhi Gosht Biryani ($38) with rich saffron and tender lamb or the Sailana Jheenga ($32), which are juicy prawns cooked in creamy coconut and yoghurt gravy.

Address: 392 Havelock Road, Singapore 169663
Opening hours: 12pm to 2.30pm & 6pm to 10pm (Tuesdays to Sundays) | Closed on Mondays
