As Singaporeans wait for the Japan borders to open up a lil’ more, City Square Mall has brought over a Hello Kitty and My Melody pop-up for those who can’t wait to live their kawaii dreams IRL.
Available from now till 26 June 2022, the pop-up is filled with exclusive merchandise and photo spots alongside games that encourage sustainable living. Continue reading to find out more about the adorable pop-up.
It won’t be easy to miss out on the Sanrio Character Fair, as a huge, pink arch in the shape of Hello Kitty’s face welcomes you at the entrance.
Pro tip: Snap a picture with your camera using a wide lens to capture the entire arch.
You can expect to find a wide range of Sanrio merchandise like T-shirts in adult and kids sizes, stationery, and kitchenware to spruce up your living space.
Good news for those who are planning for a wardrobe haul ‒ the more merch you buy, the cheaper each piece of item gets. For example, one adult T-shirt retails at $35, but for three, you can take them home at $29 each. Time to round up your fellow Sanrio stans to save together.
Home-cooked meals can’t get any better when you enjoy them using Hello Kitty bowls and plates. Apart from just crockery, expand your Sanrio collection with utensils, cups, and bottles in the designs of the adorable characters.
If your hands are in need of some TLC, there are even Sanrio-themed hand creams that feature a miniature figurine on top of the packaging.
The pop-up is also a reminder for us to embark on a sustainable lifestyle as you’ll find recyclable tote bags and pouches that will also add a pop of colour to your OOTD.
Available in a variety of sizes, the bags can store essentials like hand sanitisers and a purse, and they also work well as grocery storage when you’re out running errands.
For those who spend a minimum of $50 at the Sanrio Characters Fair, you can bring home a pair of Sanrio Character chopsticks for free too.
Doubling as photo spots and game stations, the Eco Quest activity corners educate shoppers on environmental issues, and ways to contribute to green living.
After snapping a selfie with the garden hedges in the shape of Hello Kitty and My Melody, be sure to also participate in the e-activity by scanning the QR code found at the side.
Shoppers who complete all four stations, and capture the most creative AR photo will stand a chance to win a Hello Kitty hamper that is worth $128.
The first station teaches the importance of recycling right, and you’ll find a photo spot with standees of Hello Kitty and My Melody, alongside “recycling bins” with plastic, paper, glass, and metal labels.
Perhaps with these, little ones will also develop a better understanding of how to dispose of trash correctly.
The second and third stations are found at Levels 2 and 3, and they educate shoppers on ecological tips, and information on eco bags to reduce the use of plastic respectively.
Lastly on Level 4, you can play a part in raising awareness for the environment by taking a creative AR photo with Hello Kitty and My Melody, and sharing it online.
As a bonus for Hello Kitty fans, there are eco-friendly collectibles available at various CDL Malls like City Square Mall, Palais Renaissance, Quayside Isle, and Republic Plaza.
The pastel Hello Kitty Collapsible Cup is redeemable at City Square Mall when you spend a minimum of $120. As for the Hello Kitty Lunch Bag that comes with a cute “Save the Planet” recycling bin, it is available at Palais Renaissance when you spend a minimum of $200.
Take home this Hello Kitty Tote Bag from Quayside Isle when you spend a minimum of $100. The pink Hello Kitty Lunch Box is also up for grabs when you spend a minimum of $40 at Republic Plaza.
Don’t forget to redeem a Hello Kitty and My Melody Meet & Greet pass when you spend a minimum of $50 at City Square Mall. Fans of all ages can snap photos with the two iconic characters as a memorable experience to conclude the pop-up.
The pass is redeemable two hours before each Meet & Greet session at the customer service counter at Level 2. Each session lasts for 30 minutes, and is only available on Fridays, at 4pm and 7pm, and Saturdays and Sundays, at 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm.
Surprise your Sanrio fan friends when you bring them down to City Square Mall to visit the Hello Kitty and My Melody pop-up. Since there are adorable photo spots, be sure to also put on your best smile ‒ all while taking a step towards a greener lifestyle.
