This Artist Will Give Your Labubu A Custom Makeover From $30—Including Fur Paint & Makeup

Customise your Labubu with fur paint and makeup

No, the Labubu hype still hasn’t died down. In fact, the hype amped up once the ability to customise your Labubu started trending. If giving your Labubu braces and eyelash extensions just wasn’t enough, here comes the next craze—custom makeovers for your Labubu.

Introducing the brains behind the offering, Michelle Masri (@chelle.masri), a home-based artist who will customise your Labubu for prices starting from just $30.

She offers everything from face makeup, which consists of painting your Labubu’s eyes, nose, face, and lips, to body paint, where you can change the colour of your Labubu’s fur.

Naturally, this customisation service is only applicable for the furry Labubu trinkets, and not your vinyl figurines. Also, a disclaimer: body paint is only available for Version 1 Labubus, due to the fur type.

Michelle often posts her Labubu makeovers on her Instagram, so you can sneak a peek to see if you’re keen to give her free rein over your Labubu doll.

Some of her recent makeovers include dyeing the POP MART figurine’s fur in rainbow shades, giving them metallic facepaint, or adorable rainbow eyes. Rest assured, your Labubu will be one-of-a-kind once she’s done.

Interested parties can reach out to her for her services via Instagram DMs, and be placed on a waitlist.

On rare occasions, she even drops ready-made Labubus, allowing you to skip the waitlist for customisation. However, these are rarely released and are in limited supply, so if you snooze, you lose!

If Labubus aren’t your thing, she also offers her services for different dolls and POP MART figurines, but prices are up for discussion. Just reach out to her via her DMs if you’re interested.

Why is Labubu so popular?

If you aren’t sure where these figures came from, they were created by Hong Kong-born and bred artist Kasing Lung. He started designing them in 2015 and signed an exclusive licensing contract with POPMART in 2019, bringing you the Labubu you know and love today.

Even though Labubu have been sold since 2019, they only gained popularity recently when BLACKPINK’s Lisa debuted her extensive collection of the figurine. Since then, many people have made it their life’s mission to make sure they have one (or an army, in some cases) by travelling to look purchase exclusive editions, and even paying thousands of dollars just to get one Labubu.
