20 Affordable Places To Get Your Brows Done In Singapore Under $16—Eyebrow Threading, Trimming & Shaping

Eyebrow threading & shaping in Singapore

Although eyebrows make up a small part of your face, they play a big role in accentuating your facial features, so keeping them in shape is a must. After scouring through online reviews of eyebrow services, we found 20 popular eyebrow grooming salons that cost as little as $4.50 for eyebrow threading and shaping in Singapore.

How to prep your brows before getting them threaded

Before you head into your appointment, there are a few things to keep in mind to prep your brows for your threading session.

Firstly, try not to tweeze or pluck your eyebrows for at least 2 weeks before getting them threaded, and let them grow out naturally. This will allow your brow technician to give you your desired brow shape without worrying about thinning them out.

Secondly, keep your eye and brow makeup light or even skip it altogether so your brow specialist gauges the natural shape and thickness of your brows. Plus, it also saves you the hassle of touching up your smudged makeup.

Lastly, it’s better to exfoliate your brow area before your session to clear out any dead skin cells that could potentially clog pores and result in in-grown hairs. And, of course, remember to stay hydrated!

Is threading better than tweezing or waxing?

Each brow hair removal technique has different benefits, so it boils down to what you prefer.

Threading, as its name suggests, involves using a piece of thread to twist and pull out any unwanted hair directly from the root.

It’s said to be one of the safest methods as the process is almost completely natural and doesn’t require any chemicals, save for prepping and cleaning the eyebrows with alcohol wipes before threading. It’s also less invasive, making it safer for those with sensitive skin who are more susceptible to breakouts.

Meanwhile, waxing uses warm wax and fabric strips applied to a small section of the skin to rip the hairs out. The technique is typically a lot faster than threading as waxing can remove multiple hairs at once while threading focuses on removing every single hair bit by bit. So if you have a lower pain tolerance, eyebrow waxing might be better for you.

Tweezing can be the slowest hair removal method out of all three techniques. Similar to threading, tweezing requires you to go in with a tweezer and pluck each hair out individually. Though tedious, tweezing can allow the specialist to give you a more precise brow shape.

Aftercare tips after your eyebrow threading session

If you notice some redness after threading, don’t worry, that’s completely normal. Here are some aftercare tips to follow to help soothe and maintain your newly shaped brows:

  1. Apply ice cubes or a cold compress after your session to calm redness or any inflamed areas. Alternatively, you can also try spritzing your brows with rose water or applying aloe vera cream if you can’t tolerate the cold.
  2.  Don’t exfoliate for at least a full day after threading. As your brow area is already feeling sensitive, using exfoliating products immediately after might only make it worse.
  3. For hygiene reasons, you should avoid touching your brows to prevent dirt or bacteria from being transferred and causing an infection.
  4. Limit your exposure to the sun as much as possible, especially in the first 2 hours, as your skin might be more sensitive to UV rays after your session. Similarly, heat sources such as tanning beds, saunas, and hot onsen baths or anything that uses a lot of steam are also a no-go.
  5. Put the eyebrow pencil down and leave your eyebrows alone. Also, try to not put any heavier products such as rich moisturisers, lotions, or any fragranced products These can clog your pores and may irritate your skin even further.

How long does eyebrow threading last?

This depends on how quickly your hair re-grows, but generally, the shape from your eyebrow threading should last for about 2 to 5 weeks.
