Fitness Events In Singapore
As 2018 comes to a close, the holiday period sees us indulging in food and drink at Christmas feasts and New Year’s Eve parties.
So whether you’re looking to shed the extra calories, or you’ve made getting in shape your 2019’s resolution, here are 13 free fitness classes to help you achieve your goals.
Single Day Events
1. Free Gracie Women Empowered Seminar
Equip yourself with self-defense moves based of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques. The women-only class will teach you how to fight against a larger opponent and escape if you’re pinned to the ground.
No experience necessary, first time students only.

2. Outdoor Yoga at Fountain of Wealth
Start the first weekend of 2019 on a good note with a series of yoga, pilates, and meditation classes. Bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and hand towel.

3. Swing The Night Away
Lindy Hop is a social dance combining jazz, swing and tap dance. You’ll rotate partners during the class so you’ll definitely make new friends while dancing the night away.

4. The Ring Friendly Fight Friday
Gear up and drop by for an evening of friendly sparring with other boxing enthusiasts. After, sit down and reward yourself with food and drinks at the flea market.

5. Walking at East Coast Park
Let the sun warm your face and take in the fresh morning air when you stroll from Kembangan MRT to East Coast Park. The low-impact aerobic exercise makes walking a suitable activity for all fitness levels.

6. Painful Sunday Open House
Test your physical fitness when you put yourself through a series of challenging boot camp-style exercises and a dragon boater’s fitness regime. You’ll also get the chance to paddle in a dragon boat at Bedok Reservoir.

7. BHR 2019 New Year Run
Start new traditions and usher in the new year with a 20.19km run. If you prefer a shorter route, do a 10km to Punggol Waterway. See full running route here.
The Braddell Heights Runners also hold weekly Wednesday night and Saturday morning runs.

8. Bishan Parkrun New Year’s Day
Work up a sweat with a relaxed 5km jog at Bishan Park. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

9. Lindy Hop at Centrepoint
If you’re shy about dancing outdoors, learn the Lindy Hop in a dance studio setting. The first session of each month (4 January and 1 February) features a Lindy Hop taster class. The second session (18 January and 15 February) is a Solo Jazz class.

10. New Balance Run Club

11. Breathing Therapy and Meditation
Fitness also encompasses mental health. Practice mindfulness with a breathing practice and meditation session to better manage anger, anxiety, and fear and relieve tension and mental exhaustion.
Though the event is technically free, you are encouraged to leave a monetary token of appreciation.
