Every now and then, we all wanna treat ourselves to some TLC after a long hard day. Just like going for a late night massage or chill drinks with the girls to unwind, grooming your nails at a nail salon has the same relaxing, therapeutic effect.
As compared to having just a regular coat of polish applied, gel manis and pedis are a gift. Your fabulously done nails don’t get chipped as easily and can last up to four weeks so you don’t have to worry about the upkeep.
To help you get your nails done without having to travel too far from your home, we trawled the internet to compile a list of reputable nail salons where you can get gel nails in Singapore from $28

Gel manicures have a glossier, more durable coating than your regular nail polish. They typically have a long process as the gel formula applied to your nails is created through a base, colour, and top coat. Each coating is then cured under a UV or LED light for about 60 seconds.
In contrast, acrylic nails are made by combining liquid monomers with powder polymers to create a hard substance that can be applied directly to the nail without the need for curing under light. This mixture simply air dries to set.
The alternative to this is gel X, which is basically the extension of gel nails. The difference between gel X and acrylics is that, with gel X, the liquid and powder have already been mixed and are ready to be applied to the nails and cured under the light.
Acrylics tend to be harder and are more long-lasting than gel nails and gel X so they’re less prone to breaking. However, as your natural nails grow out, your acrylics may potentially become brittle over time. Plus, they can also be quite difficult to remove since they require filing down the top layer before soaking the nails in acetone.
On the other hand, you only need acetone to remove gel manicures, but this also depends on the design you’ve picked. If your designs feature ornate details and embellishments, then they might need to be filed down as well. Gel nails and extensions are softer than acrylics so they’ll still be slightly easier to remove and are less than damaging than acrylics.
You can keep your gel nails on for two to four weeks. But, note that the longer you keep your gel nails on, the more brittle your nails will become since the gel layer prevents proper airflow and hydration. This may result in your nails breaking.

After a manicure, you should avoid putting your hands in water for long periods of time. Avoid swimming or taking long baths since water may cause the gel layer to chip.
You should also refrain from peeling the gel off your nails as you could end up scratching or breaking your natural nails.
If life has been hectic, consider taking some time out of your day for a gel nail session in Singapore. Not only will you get a well-deserved break, but you’ll also be able to go home with cute nails that’ll perk you up whenever you look at them.
Hopefully, with this list, you’ll be able to find a nail salon near your home with services within your budget.
