Before old-school internet games like Neopets and Maple Story, Hot Wheels and Beyblades used to be the toys that added thrill and excitement to the lives of ’90s kids. Believe it or not, Beyblades are making a comeback, this time with our favourite kitty character, Hello Kitty. Continue reading to find out more about this exclusive kawaii release.
Beyblade’s latest collaboration with Hello Kitty might not come as a surprise for some fans, as Hello Kitty was previously appointed as a Beyblade ambassador.
Like standard Beyblades, this new version comes with interchangeable layers, and is inspired by the colours seen typically on Hello Kitty ‒ her iconic red ribbon, yellow shirt, and blue overalls. In the centre where the bit beast lies, you’ll spot an adorable motif of Hello Kitty’s face.
Despite its kawaii appearance, rest assured this Beyblade is made to still “rip” any opponent thanks to its heavyweight and strong bit beast. It is highly durable in shape and even has built-in reinforcement springs that increase the offence power.
As mentioned, the layers are interchangeable and they allow fans to change the attack mode of Beyblade according to their preference.
Whether it is to inspire the younger generation to pick up the game or expand your Sanrio collection, this exclusive Beyblade also works well as a gift. It is packed in a white and red box, and even features polka dots on the outside.
Good news for Beyblade and Hello Kitty fans in Singapore, as this exclusive item ships to Singapore, and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon Japan at ¥2,200 (~S$22.70). It is set to drop on 17 September 2022.
Prior to the release of this Hello Kitty Beyblade, a Beyblade Burst Tournament Hello Kitty Cup will be held on 5 August 2022 at Sanrio Puroland in Tokyo. Since Japan has opened its borders to welcome tourists, who knows if they would further loosen up the regulations so fans from all over the world can attend the tournament.
For more information, you can visit Sanrio Puroland’s official website.
