Unless you’re #blessed with straight teeth, you’ve probably considered getting braces at one point. But if the thought of having visible metal wires and tight rubber bands in your mouth has put you off from getting braces since adolescence, there’s a more discreet solution on the market: Invisalign.
From its costs to clinics that provide the treatment, here’s what you need to know about Invisalign before you make your first appointment.
The Invisalign treatment requires you to wear a series of clear, removable trays daily. Once you fit the aligners snugly over your teeth, they’re near invisible.
Made of an advanced flexible plastic, each set of aligners applies gentle force to your teeth, gradually shifting them into place. You will experience some pain in the early phases of your treatment, but it won’t hurt as much as wearing traditional braces.
For the aligners to be effective, you will have to wear them for 20 to 22 hours every day. You can remove them temporarily when you have to eat and drink, as well as brush and floss your teeth. A new set of aligners will be given to you every 2 months.
Your dentist will first evaluate your teeth, then use a software to map out a customised treatment plan for you. It will detail the transformation of your smile at every stage, right down to the tiniest shift.
Your Invisalign treatment plan depends on the complexity of the issues you wish to address. For example, the plan for correcting an underbite will differ from one that aims to straighten crowded teeth.
The treatment options are divided into 4 categories: Comprehensive, Moderate, Lite and Express. These categories determine the number of aligners that will be manufactured for you, as well as the fees for your Invisalign treatment plan.
The cost of an Invisalign treatment in Singapore can range from $7,000 to $9,500. If your chosen dental clinic does not include other treatments and expenses like X-rays, retainers and sectional braces, your dentist will be able to slide the scale down to $4,500.
Take a look at the places that offer Invisalign treatments.
