Where to buy Jellycat in Singapore

Jellycat is one of the most popular stuffed animal brands of all time, with plushies known for their pillow-soft fur and the wide range of characters available. From their signature Bashful Bunnies to their adorable Amuseables series, there’s bound to be a Jellycat for you.

If you’re constantly on the lookout for a Jellycat but don’t want to pay the expensive shipping fees to ship a plushie directly from the official website, here are 7 places to shop for your dream Jellycat in Singapore.

Where are Jellycats from?

Jellycat is a London-based toy company founded in 1999. Since then, they’ve expanded worldwide, making their plushies available for everyone to enjoy.

Why are Jellycats so expensive?

Though the initial price seems a bit outrageous for a stuffed animal, Jellycat has guaranteed that there is a reason for that. This is because they use premium fabric and make sure that every stitch is done properly, making it safe for babies as well. Their stuffed toys are extremely high quality, with many consumers saying that their Jellycats can last them for years.

Additionally, Jellycat prioritises workplace safety and pays its factory workers fair wages, which can be seen in the price tag. We love to support brands that care, even if that means paying a little more.

1. Mothercare

OG Jellycat retailers in Singapore

Mothercare isn’t just for parents, it’s also for all the girlies who adore Jellycat. This was the OG boutique that stocked Jellycat in Singapore, making access to the plushies easier for Singaporeans. They carry the full range of Jellycat, including the life-sized Bashful Bunnies ($149.90), which is quite rare for a local store. The prices are also comparable to the official Jellycat website, which means you don’t have to pay a markup to get the Jellycat you want.

Deer Industries is rumoured to have the largest selection of Jellycat in Singapore, and we can confirm that the rumour is true. Besides the usual stuffed animals, the shop also carries Jellycat bag charms, books and bags as well. These items are extremely difficult to find in Singapore because they are usually out of stock, so it’s great that Deer Industries has them.

The bag charms feature miniature versions of some of Jellycat’s best sellers, such as the Bartholomew Bear Bag Charm and Ricky Rain Frog Charm, retailing for $45.90 each.

Though they have almost every Jellycat you could think of, do take note that they only have limited quantities for each piece, so make sure you cop the one you want before they sell out!

Though The Elly Store is more known for its collection of children’s clothing, it also has a decent selection of Jellycat available. Admittedly, they don’t have the largest variety of Jellycat toys compared to the other stores on the list, but they have an option to customise a sweater for your Jellycat for an extra $20.

These sweaters are only available for medium-sized Jellycat, but they come in lots of colours. To customise one, simply pick the colour of your sweater, thread, and the name you would like to embroider. These make for excellent gifts due to the extra personal touch so make sure to add them to your list of possible gifts to get for others.

7. Sea Apple

Customisable Jellycat accessories.

If you don’t want to have the same Jellycat as everyone else in Singapore, head down to Sea Apple to get them customised. You can do this by picking from the large assortment of iron-on patches available, which are priced from just $1! You can also opt for stickers which cost $5 for 10 pieces or for embroidery, which costs $18, though it takes longer to complete. However, do take note that these customisation services are only available for Bashful Bunnies.

Alternatively, if patches aren’t really your thing or you want another Jellycat animal, you can also customise a reversible collar or bucket hat for your plush! The collar comes in 4 colours and 2 shapes, a pointed and a square one while the bucket hat comes in 3 colours. They can be used on any stuffed animals to really make them stand out from the crowd.
