Just last week, McDonald’s Singapore teased a potential Hello Kitty collaboration with an Instagram post, featuring her signature red bow and a caption, “get ready to say hello to an iconic favourite”. While many speculated that it could be the exclusive mahjong set that was first launched in Hong Kong, others were hoping for Hello Kitty-themed meals.
The gig is now up — in line with Chinese New Year, McDonald’s is launching their annual prosperity burger along with Hello Kitty plush toys with every meal purchased.
From 15th February 2024 onwards, Set 1 will be available, featuring a pink 50th anniversary doll holding onto a strawberry pie and a McDonald’s crew plush. Set 2 will be available from 19 February, starring a Matsuri doll, which means “festival” in Japanese, and a marine-themed doll.
All of the Hello Kitty plush toys will be available from 11am onwards on each release date. These will can only be purchased at $9.90 per set with an Extra Value Meal, Feast, 2x Value Meal or Family Meal in a single transaction.
Note that there’s a limit of two sets per customer, so if you’re hoping to collect more dolls, it’s time to ask your BFF along to enjoy McDonald’s new CNY menu together.
Of course, it’s not a Chinese New Year celebration without angbaos. For a limited time only, Hello Kitty fans will receive a complimentary set of red packets with every purchase of the new Prosperity Feast.
The angbaos come in three adorable designs showcasing fries, Happy Meals and chicken wings to impress your relatives this year.
The McDonald’s x Hello Kitty plush toys will launch on 15 February 2024 at McDonald’s self-ordering kiosks and front counters of all McDonald’s restaurants. Head over to McDonald’s Singapore’s Instagram page for more information.
