1. Melo Movie: 14 February

Coming to you on Valentine’s Day, romantic K-drama Melo Movie features a star-studded cast with Choi Woo Shik from Parasite and Park Bo Young from Strong Girl Bong-soon playing leading roles. 

The series is written by Our Beloved Summer’s writer Lee Na Eun and led by Oh Chung Hwan, the famed director behind Hotel Del Luna and Start-Up. Melo Movie follows film critic Choi Ko Gyeom and aspiring director Kim Mu Bee who reunite years later after a brief romance. 

Apart from its romantic element, the drama focuses on the individual growth of characters as they learn to overcome their past traumas and seek inspiration from each other.

Fondly dubbed the ‘Nation’s Little Sister’, K-pop star IU will be gracing the screen alongside beloved actor Park Bo Gum from Love in the Moonlight in the upcoming historical drama, When Life Gives You Tangerines

Directed by Kim Won Suk from Signal and My Mister, the drama follows the lives of Ae Soon, a rebellious young girl, and Gwan Sik, an introvert who only has eyes for her. Set against the backdrop of Jeju Island in the 1950s, When Life Gives You Tangerines chronicles Ae Soon’s journey to become a poet despite her financial setbacks and lack of formal education.

 

3. Squid Game 3: June 27

The last season of Netflix’s most-watched series will be dropping in June this year. The long-awaited finale of Squid Game will culminate in a heads-on clash between Gi Hun and the Front Man. Furthermore, director Hwang Dong Hyuk has teased fans by citing that the new episodes will shed light on Hwang In Ho’s backstory and how he landed the role of the antagonistic Front Man. Young Hee’s robot “boyfriend”, who was featured in the post-credits scene of the latest episode, will also appear in a new game.

Adapted from Jang Da Hye’s novel, Hong Rang tells the story of two long-lost step-siblings in the late Joseon Dynasty. A wealthy family is thrown into disarray when their son Hong Rang (Lee Jae Wook) returns after a decade with no recollection of his childhood. Played by Jo Bo Ah, his half-sister Jae Yi attempts to solve the mystery surrounding his disappearance as he struggles to uncover the truth behind his identity and forgotten past. Jae Yi soon develops feelings for Hong Rang, whom she suspects is not her real brother.

International star Park Hae Soo from Squid Game 1 and renowned actress Shin Min A from Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha will be bringing to life Karma, a crime thriller remake of a webtoon. The plot revolves around unlikely strangers who are inextricably entangled in an ill-fated relationship. In a twisted game of fate, they find their lives converging as their karmic cycle plays out on one another. The characters are presented with insurmountable obstacles as they attempt to defy their destinies.

6. Weak Hero Class 2: Q2 of 2025

Starring Park Ji Hoon, a member of ex-supergroup Wanna One and the runner-up of Produce 101 Season 2, the thriller drama depicts a teenager struggling against school violence. In this season, Yeon Si Eun is once again the target of tyrannical bullies at his new school. He attempts to overthrow the power imbalance between the strong and the weak with his intellect, rather than physical prowess. Season 2 promises to put on a riveting performance with the casting of Ryeoun from Twinkling Watermelon as Si Eun’s sidekick.
