Valentine’s Day is near, and if you and bae are looking to get out and have steamy sexy time abroad and away from your bedroom, you’re in luck.
Travel site Booking.com has recently compiled a list of the 10 most searched romantic destinations by local lovebirds. On the lineup are dreamy beach towns in Southeast Asia, vibrant cities in Australia, and fun party hubs in the Middle East. Scroll down and check out all the hotspots that made the top 10, and guess which emerged as #1.
Good news: all 10 destinations are under 8 hours away.
Given how cheap and cheerful Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Johor Bahru are, plus the ease of getting there from Singapore, it’s no surprise that they top the chart at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Melaka also made the list at 6th spot and is set to be a romantic getaway hotspot in 2024.
Further away from home, couples are eyeing a trip to Tokyo. If you’ve seen the scenic sights and tasted the delish Japanese food there, you’ll understand why. Coming in 5th place was Dubai with its red sand desert safari, skyscrapers, and bazillion rooftop bars where couples can whisper sweet nothing in each other’s ears with a view.
Other destinations include Taipei and Sydney which scored 8th and 10th places respectively. For couples who like a city getaway with a side of history, adventure, and good food, these are the spots.
Then, there’s the calm and holy grounds of Ubud and Seminyak in Bali where visits to a hot spring, volcano, multiple islands, and even a monkey forest can all be done in a day.
No matter your vibe, there’s sure to be a romantic destination that fits your vision and budget.
So, will it be a cosy night in Tokyo for you two? An oceanfront stay in Bali? A wild night out in Dubai? Or, somewhere else that goes beyond the list of Booking.com. Whatever you want, bb.
