2020 marks the 50th anniversary of a childhood icon for many Singaporeans. Yep, we’re talking about none other than our favourite cat from the future, Doraemon. So far, some popular Doraemon collaborations released this year include Gucci’s Doraemon Bag as well as the Nike SB Dunk High “Doraemon”. Now, beauty brand Paul & Joe has teamed up with Doraemon once again to launch a makeup collection.
Paul & Joe previously collaborated with Doraemon back in 2019. This time around, the collection also includes Dorami, Doraemon’s cute little sister. This year’s packaging is also mainly yellow in colour, to celebrate Doraemon’s golden anniversary.
The collection will be launching in Japan in November, which means there might be enough time to buy it as a Christmas present for yourself, or a cat-loving friend.
The Paul & Joe x Doraemon Christmas Makeup Collection 2020 consists of 4 items: a primer, pressed powder, blush and reversible pouch. It will retail for ¥6,500 (~S$83.81).
The set includes the brand’s bestselling makeup base, Moisturizing Foundation Primer S. The bottle comes with a golden Dorami charm. This hydrating primer will help you achieve a no-makeup makeup look.
The next product in the line-up is a pressed powder compact with Doraemon and Dorami neatly embossed in the centre. The lavender tones in the Paul & Joe Doraemon Pressed Powder 01 (right) help to brighten up dull skin and make it look more transparent.
The makeup set also includes the Paul & Joe Doraemon Powder Blush D001 (left). It gives your face a natural bright complexion and is perfect for an everyday look. The blush is embossed with Dorami’s face.
Both the pressed powder and the powder blush come in a yellow vibrant casing with a classic flower pattern, as well as Doraemon and Dorami on the cover.
The set comes in the Paul & Joe Doraemon Makeup Pouch to hold all your products. With 2 cute and different designs inside and out, you can easily invert the bag for a different look whenever you feel like it.

The outer layer of the lippie consists of a solid shade, while Doraemon’s face lies in the middle in a glossy complementary colour. Dorami’s face is engraved on the top of the casing. The lipstick comes in 3 colours—bright red, pink and plum. The Paul & Joe Doraemon Lipstick will retail for ¥4,000 (~S$51.57) each.
A cute and portable lip balm to keep your lips soft and moisturised on-the-go is an essential. The Paul & Joe Doraemon Lip Treatment Balm D is scented like Dorami’s favourite melonpan (honeydew melon bread), and will give your lips a glossy and plump look. It also acts as a primer to lay the foundation for your lip makeup. The lip balm will retail for ¥1,800 (~S$23.21).
The Paul & Joe x Doraemon 2020 collection will be available for pre-order from 18 October 2020 in Japan, and will be released on 1 November 2020. For now, it is not known if the products will be available in Singapore, so watch this space for updates.
