Over the years, Sanrio fans have been fawning over the cuteness of Hello Kitty and her equally adorable friends. While it seems as if Hello Kitty has been around since forever, some of us may be surprised to find out that it’s been a whopping 50 years since this kawaii cat character was first introduced.
In celebration of Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary this 2024, fans can head down to Jewel Changi Airport to snap cute pictures at a Hello Kitty-themed photo booth.
It’s hard to miss out on the photo booth at Jewel Changi Airport, as it showcases a bright pink sign that proudly reads “50th Anniversary Hello Kitty”. The photo booth itself is decked in more pink hues, surrounded by motifs of Hello Kitty and sweets.
Not only are the photo strips cute AF, but they’re also affordable — users will be able to receive two printed strips for just $4.
With Chinese New Year approaching, fans are also treated to a variety of CNY-themed frames. The designs range from Hello Kitty holding onto angbaos to My Melody donning a red cheongsam.
For Hello Kitty-only fans who are here to celebrate her 50th anniversary, not to worry. There’s also six exclusive Hello Kitty designs to choose from, featuring sweet gingham prints and Hello Kitty’s twin sister, Mimmy White.
Fans will also be able to select a filter to zhng up their photo booth prints.
Some TikTok users have pointed out that the photo booth machine does not accept cash, but you can purchase tokens from Cow Play Cow Moo or pay via credit card.
