Shangri-La Singapore Celebrates International Women’s Day With A Chio High Tea Set This March 2022

March is right around the corner, and this means International Women’s Day is approaching real soon. In lieu of the occasion that falls every 8 March, The Lobby Lounge at Shangri-La Singapore has partnered with United Women Singapore (UWS) for a specially curated high tea set, the EmpowHer High Tea.  

From 1 to 31 March 2022, jio your fellow girlies and pamper yourselves to both sweet and savoury delights. Continue reading to find out more about the special high tea set.

The high tea set

For the unacquainted, UWS’s brand colours are purple and yellow, and unsurprisingly used as the colour palette for the EmpowHer High Tea. 

The three-tier high tea set includes savouries like smoked royal salmon, forest mushroom quiche, and ocean crabmeat with tobiko. 

For those with a sweet tooth, you’ll be pleased to know there are delectable treats like vanilla and orange scones, local kuehs, and exquisite French desserts.  

Apart from the munchies, each high tea set comes with two cups of hot beverages. You get to choose from a range of exclusive tea selections, freshly brewed cappuccino, latte, teh tarik and kopi.

Also included in the collaboration is Magenta, a cake made with a combination of blueberry yoghurt cheese mousse, pecan cocoa brownie, and pecan nuts streusel. Aptly named after the colour, the 350g cake features purple hues, and is also adorned with white chocolate flowers. 

For those who wish to honour the women in their organisations or companies with Magenta, Shangri-La Singapore is also offering logo customisation with a minimum of 10 orders.  

Similar to the high tea set, Magenta will be available from 1 to 31 March 2022 at Shophouse by Shangri-La, and is priced at $48.

The EmpowHer High Tea Set Raises Awareness On The Local Programmes By UWS

The high tea experience might be at the pricey end at $88++ for two, but Shangri-La Singapore will donate $3 for every high tea set sold to UWS. 

The proceeds will support UWS’s three flagship programmes ‒ Girls2Pioneers STEM, UWS Boys Empowered, and GenSafe Workplaces. They help to narrow the gender equality gap through education, empower boys to prevent gender-based violence, and support employees impacted by domestic violence and abuse respectively.
