2. Seeing Forest
Conceived by Robert Zhao Renhui, Seeing Forest is a project that sheds light on the intricate coexistence between nature and human life. It highlights his decade-long research on the secondary forests in Singapore—forested areas that have regrown after being deforested by human development. Seeing Forest is about a reciprocal gaze, inviting us to explore the complexities of our evolving landscape, how urban planning has shaped the natural world, and nature’s subsequent response to it.
Robert’s observations are transformed into thought-provoking images and installations that beg us to consider how we view nature, as well as how it views us. Visitors can expect to step into a forest-like environment filled with vibrant sights, sounds, and stories.
