When it comes to whimsical Halloween flicks for all ages, nothing beats The Addams Family. But if you’ve already gone as Wednesday Addams for Halloween a couple of times, why not turn yourself into the equally morbid and aesthetic Lydia Deetz?
Tim Burton’s classic Beetlejuice is riddled with eerie characters sporting comically iconic looks, but we’re particularly drawn to Lydia’s gothic witch vibes like a moth to a flame.
Lydia’s wedding makeup took a deep red swerve from her signature kohl-rimmed eyes, so we’ll need the right berry shades to recreate this haunting look. That was when we met Urban Decay’s Naked Cherry collection.
The brand may be discontinuing their OG Naked Palette, but the highly anticipated launch gave birth to the new 12-pan Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette (S$83), replete with matte and metallic finishes. After all, one must die for the other to thrive.
The highly anticipated launch also features three limited edition Vice Lipsticks (S$31) and two new 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils (S$33). Here’s a step-by-step guide that’ll transform you into a modern day, grown-up version of Lydia Deetz.
To create your base, dip your brush in ‘Feelz’, a soft dusty rose, and brush it over the entire eyelid, close to your brow bone.
Blend some ‘Delivish’, a reddish plum, to the inner and outer corners of your lids. Use the same shade to define your lower lash line.
Add a hint of ‘Privacy’, a deep brown, to the outer corner of the eyes and a tad on the lower lash line, blending it with the lighter shades.
Tap a small amount of ‘Young Love’, a metallic cranberry, in the centre of the lids for dimension and blend it out.
To tie it all together, reach for the Naked Cherry 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in ‘Love Drug’, a shimmering burgundy, and line the upper lid. Blend with the eyeshadow brush.
Last but not least, add some shimmer to your lips with the Naked Cherry Vice Lipstick in ‘Juicy’, a sparkling nude.
This look works best for those with shorter bangs, so use a bit of pomade or styling wax and split your fringe into tiny sections for a spiky effect. To top it off, we donned our model in a black biker jacket for a contemporary take on the character.
If you’re going for a look that relies heavily on copper tones and plum shades this Halloween, Urban Decay’s new Naked Cherry collection will help you recreate it in a flash.
Urban Decay’s Naked Cherry Collection is now available at Sephora stores and Sephora.sg.
