We reviewed the best concealers for dry skin in Singapore

Dealing with dry skin is already a challenge, but finding a concealer that doesn’t cling to flakes, settle into fine lines, or make you look like you’ve aged 10 years overnight? That’s a whole other level of struggle.

With so many concealers for dry skin promising hydration and seamless coverage, it can be overwhelming to figure out which ones actually live up to the hype, especially in Singapore’s crowded makeup market.

1. The SAEM Cover Perfection Ideal Concealer Duo, 8.7ml ($12.53)

Best budget-friendly concealer for dry skin.

The Saem Concealer

The SAEM Cover Perfection Ideal Concealer Duo has 2 different formulas in one product. One end contains the same smooth and creamy liquid as the brand’s bestselling Cover Perfection Tip Concealer. The lightweight formula highlights the under eyes without settling into fine lines or wrinkles, making you look as if you’ve gotten a few extra hours of sleep.

In the concealer duo, there’s the addition of a stick formula, so users can target smaller areas of skin imperfections. To add to its flawless coverage, the concealer promises a clean and even skin tone while protecting your skin from sunlight.

The first thing that I noticed about the concealer was how silky it was, gliding over my skin easily while making my under eyes feel moisturised. Despite its bendability, its matte formula accentuated dry patches of skin, clumping around them and making them appear flaky. In the end, I had to exfoliate my skin before reapplying the concealer. It also creased under the eyes shortly after application.

One plus point for the concealer is its full coverage and buildable formula! It concealed my prominent dark circles and the redness of my skin.  Most of the flaws on my skin remained fully concealed, even after the end of a long work day, with only my dark circles becoming slightly more visible. If you don’t have very dry under eyes and are looking for a formula that offers max coverage, this Saem gem is worth the try!

Peripera Concealer

Designed for long wear and a high adherence to one’s skin, the Peripera Double Longwear Cover Concealer firmly covers unwanted blemishes, uneven tone, dark spots, and pores. It can even be used as a lip base. Clinically tested for skin irritation on sensitive skin, the concealer minimises the chances of breakouts or irritation. In its nourishing formula, Brussels Sprout Extract supports collagen production and promotes skin elasticity, while the Jojoba Seed Oil helps to soothe red and inflamed skin.

Peripera Concealer Before After

The concealer had a smooth and creamy texture that didn’t feel too heavy on the skin. Despite its matte finish, the product did not highlight my patches of dry skin. It also offered full coverage, eliminating all traces of my dark circles and covering my blemishes. For those who might need more coverage, you can build the concealer without worry, as it layers on seamlessly.

The Peripera Double Longwear Cover Concealer remained light and hydrating throughout the day. Its full coverage also remained uncompromised, with the only drawback being the minimal creasing along the under-eye lines.

3. CANMAKE Cover & Stretch Concealer, 7.5ml ($18.20)

Best concealer with SPF.

CANMAKE Concealer

Source: Takashima Shop

Fortified with SPF30 and PA++, the CANMAKE Cover & Stretch Concealer protects your skin from ultraviolet rays. It also works to prevent freckles, spots, and brown rings around the eyes that come with sun exposure. The almost-elastic formula has a light-diffusing effect that helps with concealing hyperpigmentation, pores, and fine lines. It can also be used as a primer to help prevent your makeup from running or creasing.

What’s more: the concealer is also waterproof, ensuring smooth skin that is undeterred by rain or sweat.

CANMAKE Concealer Before After

One of my biggest pain points is my prominent dark circles, which the CANMAKE formula covered with ease. Its satin finish and lightweight, moisturising formula also made my under eyes look naturally brighter, without clinging to my dry patches. However, it does crease slightly and settle into fine lines, contrary to the product’s claims, but the effect wasn’t too visible. While finicky on the under eyes, this CANMAKE concealer was top-notch at keeping my redness hidden. Still, throughout the day, the formula did fade slightly.

4. Hince Second Skin Cover Concealer. 6.5ml ($18.53)

Best concealer for a natural finish.

If you’re someone with hyperpigmentation issues, and you want a skin-like concealer to even out your complexion, consider Hince’s Second Skin Cover Concealer. Living up to its name, the product is lightweight, transfer-proof, and has a natural, flawless finish. Plus, the formula is fortified with cross polymer powders that reduce shine, in case you have combination skin. A 36-hour wear time is the cherry on top.

Hince Concealer Before After

I found Hince’s concealer hydrating and super comfortable to wear. Its smooth, matte formula managed to cover my red blemishes well, leaving behind a subtle glow that made my skin appear more radiant.

However, it wasn’t that effective in tackling my dark circles. Plus, the formula creased easily under the eyes, accentuating my eye bags.

The Hince Second Skin Cover Concealer held up pretty well throughout the day and kept my red blemishes fully covered.

5. Clio Kill Cover Founwear Concealer, 6ml ($24.90)

Clio Concealer

Source: YesStyle

Part of CLIO’s bestselling Kill Cover base makeup line, the Clio Kill Cover Founwear Concealer is said to effectively blur blemishes, spots, and dark circles to provide flawless coverage with a semi-matte finish. It has a lightweight and creamy texture that isn’t too cakey and feels gentle on the skin. The concealer is also long-lasting, so you don’t need to worry about the product wearing off or transferring throughout the day.

Clio Concealer Before After

L-R: At the start of the day, At the end of the day

Gladys, who reviewed the product, expresses, “I honestly don’t think it’s super hydrating or anything, but it’s not drying as well!” She claims that the best thing about the Clio Kill concealer is that it blends like a dream thanks to the super creamy formula. Each application also delivers a generous amount of product, so Gladys shares that she usually uses just a small amount, which she blends out with a puff. To mask her under eyes, she uses a shade lighter for a brightening effect..

Gladys says that the concealer “holds up very well throughout the day, but it does sink into my fine line after long hours”, even after she had set them with powder. The best part? Because the formula is so dense, each tube can last Gladys over 6 months, even with daily wear as she can afford to use it so sparingly.

6. Shiseido Synchro Skin Self Refreshing Concealer, 5.8ml ($46)

Best lightweight concealer.

Shiseido Concealer

Some of us aren’t fans of full-coverage products or even just the feeling of makeup on skin in Singapore’s hot and humid weather. Consider yourself in this camp? Then the Shiseido Synchro Skin Self Refreshing Concealer is a liquid concealer that is right up your alley. Made with moisturising ingredients and designed to minimise creasing around fine lines and blemishes, this Shiseido gem is a great choice for blemish-prone or more mature skin. It offers just the right amount of lightweight coverage, blending well onto the skin to mask eye bags, acne scars, and pores.

Shiseido Concealer Before After

L-R: At the start of the day, At the end of the day

The Shiseido Synchro Skin Self Refreshing Concealer was the most lightweight and moisturising concealer out of all the products on the list. It almost feels like you don’t have makeup on!

The silky formula was highly pigmented, so just a little bit of it was enough to cover a wide area. Despite its matte finish, the concealer didn’t make my dry skin and lines more obvious. Its coverage for my red blemishes and dark circles lasted throughout the day too, in spite of some very slight creasing.

7. Laura Mercier Real Flawless Weightless Perfecting Serum Concealer 5.4ml ($56)

Best light-coverage concealer.

Laura Mercier Concealer

Source: Sephora Singapore

If you struggle with papery, dry under eyes, the Laura Mercier Real Flawless Weightless Perfecting Serum Concealer seems like your best bet, at least based on its description.

Its serum-infused formula is fortified with a Hydro-Lipid Matrix, which delivers lasting hydration throughout the day. Other perks include brightening your skin tone, and covering imperfections while helping to mask dullness, fine lines, and wrinkles. Paracress extract helps stimulate collagen, and the combination of anti-oxidant-rich camellia seed and cacao extract defends your skin against environmental stressors.

Laura Mercier Concealer Before After

L-R: At the start of the day, At the end of the day

The concealer had a thin, almost watery moisturising formula that melted into my skin easily. Unfortunately, its matte finish highlighted the dry spots on my skin and made them appear patchy. Its lack of pigmentation also failed to effectively conceal my dark circles and blemishes, requiring multiple layers to get some coverage. Though the product was long-wearing, it also immediately creased into my fine lines.

In my opinion, this is a concealer that works best if you don’t have dry blemishes or a lot of redness and dullness that needs covering up. If your complexion is naturally clear, albeit lightly dry, and you’re just looking for something to give your skin tone a touch more evenness and hydration, this could be worth trying.

8. MAC Studio Radiance 24hr Luminous Lift Concealer, 11ml ($56)

Best concealer for a wide shade range.

MAC Concealer

The MAC Studio Radiance 24hr Luminous Lift Concealer promises a weightless, radiant finish with 24-hour medium buildable coverage. It’s designed to instantly conceal, hydrate, and brighten the skin—plus it boasts a formula made with 80% skincare ingredients, including a nourishing mix of olive and jojoba oils to condition the skin. The shade range is impressively wide too, with 44 options to choose from.

MAC Concealer Before After

On application, the concealer blended nicely over most parts of my face, but it didn’t sit well on drier areas—it emphasised flakiness almost immediately. The finish leaned more matte than luminous and felt quite drying right from the start. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it for those with really dry skin like mine, but your mileage may vary!

In terms of coverage, it struggled to hide my dark circles and skin redness. While it does allow for layering, the payoff just wasn’t enough for my needs.

That said, the formula is long-wearing—it didn’t fade much throughout the day. However, it left my face feeling tight and accentuated dryness, especially under the eyes, where it also creased noticeably.
