A lot of the spine-tingling scares, including the trope of a ghost sitting on one’s shoulders, reach their peak with Shutter. 

9. Roh (2019)

For fans of horror films that layer dark prophecies, curses, and rural settings, stream Malaysian folk horror film Roh. The story follows a single mother living in isolation with her two children in a jungle. Their lives take a dark turn when the children bring home a mysterious girl covered in clay, who warns them of impending doom. Psychological tension blends with local folklore to create an eerie film that gets under your skin, even if the film isn’t the most coherent at points.
