Durians aren’t named the king of fruits for no reason — with their spiky shells and pungent smell, these fruits seem to always be screaming “stay away or suffer”.
But, of course, there are many Singaporeans who still enjoy eating this creamy fruit — it’s almost like a reward for breaking into the tough exterior just to get a taste. For those who can’t get enough of durians, you can now get your hands on these durian sofas that are uniquely fit for a king.
The sofas
If you hate getting your sleep interrupted, the intimidating exterior of these sofas serve as a warning for others to stay away. But unlike its spiky-looking exterior, the inside is lined with soft cushions for a comfortable rest.
According to Facebook page Laksoubeauty, various designs are available, with some even featuring a matching durian ottoman to complete the theme.
Unfortunately, there’s no information on where Singaporeans can get these durian sofas to add to their homes for now. Not to worry — we managed to source on Taobao for some similar designs, such as this cartoon-inspired puffy durian couch.
Other designs include this sofa that’s lined with multiple small seeds in the centre. It reminds us of the Jing Feng durian, which is known for having many small yet sweet seeds.
If the previous sofa reminds us of the Jing Feng durian, then this one reminds us of the iconic Mao Shan Wang, with its large, golden yellow seeds.
