For those unaware, GOT7 is a prominent South Korean boy band that debuted in January 2014 under JYP Entertainment. The group consists of 7 members: JB, Mark Tuan, Jackson Wang, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom. Unlike most K-pop groups, where members all hail from South Korea, GOT7’s members are international, with some born in  Thailand, Hong Kong, and the United States. Some of their most popular tracks include “Girls Girls Girls,” “Stop Stop It,” “A,” and “Just Right”.

The band ended their contract with JYP Entertainment in 2021, with individual members moving to different agencies, each pursuing their solo careers. Members Jay B and Jinyoung also had to go through mandatory military service from 2022. While they promised to stay together as a band despite the agency change, this is the first that we’ve heard of an official GOT7 comeback.

2024 seems to be the year for big-name K-pop acts reuniting, from 2NE1’s tour to Big Bang’s recent performance at the MAMA Awards. GOT7 is next in line, but here’s hoping we see more dormant K-pop acts we love coming back into the limelight in 2025.
