While it’s been a decade since the last Harry Potter movie aired, the magic of Hogwarts still lives strong in all of us. Potterheads who are looking for more magical adventures can now book this Harry Potter Airbnb in the US and live like a wizard from Hogwarts — no muggles allowed, of course.
Known as the “Wizards Hollow”, this treehouse is tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the eastern side of the United States, and surrounded by lush nature. Just like the Hogwarts castle, it’s not easily spotted by muggles in the city.
No matter how many times we’ve rewatched the Harry Potter series, the intricate design of Hogwarts’ castle always leaves us feeling awe-struck. While this Airbnb isn’t as huge as the actual castle from the movies, it still manages to encapsulate the gothic architecture perfectly.
Live like Harry, Ron and Hermoine and enjoy snapping some pictures in front of the “castle” that’s complete with pointy roofs. Don’t forget to wear your wizard cloaks and hold up your wands for the ‘gram!
Take a breath of fresh air and admire the mountain view while you’re on the balcony. Rocking chairs with comfy neck cushions are also available for you to sit back and unwind.
Upon entering the treehouse, guests will be greeted with a living room fully furnished with Harry Potter-themed accents, such as vintage lamps and coffee tables shaped like luggage trunks.
As the saying goes, the devil is in the details. Keep your eyes open for owl statues shaped like Hedwig, wand containers and even an old school broomstick — though sadly, not the Nimbus 2000.
If you’re still unsure which house you belong to, try on the sorting hat yourself and find out. It doesn’t actually speak, but it’s still fun to pretend that it can actually read our minds.
Or, you can take a sneak peak into the luggage boxes that reminds us of Newt’s fantastic beasts. Keeping our fingers crossed that the Nifflers won’t escape to steal all your shiny coins.
If you look up from the living room, flags of Hogwarts’ 4 houses are proudly hung near the ceiling — yellow for Hufflepuff, red for Gryffindor, blue for Ravenclaw and green for Slytherin.
In the kitchen, coffee, tea and light snacks are provided, along with kitchen electronics for whipping up a simple meal. Another owl statue is perched on the dining table, serving as a companion to your daily meals.
While you explore around the castle, don’t miss out on the spiral staircase adorned with spells on every step. Thankfully, the staircase doesn’t shift around and change every few minutes like the ones in Hogwarts, so you can safely make your way towards the bedroom.
Here’s another magical secret: slide the bookshelf in the living room sideways to reveal a hidden room!
When entering the toilet, a large bronze mirror that reminds us of the Mirror of Erised can be found at the sink.
Meanwhile, the toilet cover reveals a sign that says “Ministry of Magic this way”. While workers would stand in the toilet bowl and flush themselves down to arrive at the Ministry of Magic headquarters, we don’t recommend you to do the same.
Closing the shower curtain while you bathe will reveal a design of Platform 9¾ at King’s Cross station. Now you can get the full experience of running “into” the brick wall every time you need to freshen up.
There are 2 bedrooms in this Airbnb, each with a queen-sized bed. The bedroom on the second floor is complete with Harry Potter-themed bedroom items such as a Ravenclaw bed cover and pillow covers in Harry Potter motifs.
Meanwhile, the bedroom on the first floor includes a clothing rack with a wizard cloak and a Hogwarts school tie. The windows surrounding this room overlook the mountain area, so you can immerse yourself in the full wizard boarding school life away from home.
This Harry Potter Airbnb is located in downtown Asheville, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of the US. As the VTL to the US will be launching soon, this is a chance for Potterheads to experience a magical stay at the Wizards Hollow for SGD$492 a night on Airbnb’s website.
