While Singaporeans are now free to travel to Japan, air tickets to the Land of the Rising Sun haven’t exactly been that affordable. As we wait for the prices to drop, reminisce about admiring gorgeous cherry blossoms in Japan with this sakura-themed Hello Kitty mahjong set.
The mahjong set catches our attention instantly with its pink carrier adorned with motifs of cherry blossoms alongside Hello Kitty dressed in a pink kimono.
Before you squeal over how adorable it already looks on the outside, wait till you open up the box ‒ expect rows of mahjong tiles and chips in pink, purple, blue, yellow, and green.
ICYMI, the mahjong tiles feature a semi-translucent pink design on the back where you can also spot a motif of Hello Kitty’s face. That’s not all ‒ some of the carvings on the mahjong tiles are replaced with cherry blossom motifs and swapped out to pink.
Exclusive to only 88 sets, the limited edition mahjong set retails at $588. But folks who also purchase a minimum of 3 other Sanrio products can get the mahjong set at $538. The deal gets even better ‒ purchase at least 6 other Sanrio purchases and snag the mahjong set at $488.
Mark your calendar as there is only a small window period for you to take home the limited edition sakura-themed mahjong set. Takashimaya members are entitled to a pre-sale that runs from 12 to 13 October 2022, whereas the mahjong set will be made available to the public from 14 to 16 October 2022.
