Now that the December school holidays are coming up soon, you might have booked an affordable hotel suite for some precious family time outside of the house. Singapore-based sustainable swimwear brand August Society has collaborated with Sanrio on a range of August Society x Hello Kitty mother-daughter swimsuits and rashguards, and they’re perfect for you to bring along on your staycation.
The best part is, the pieces are made from recycled plastic bottles. They also offer UPF 50+ sun protection to let you save the earth while protecting your skin from harmful UV rays.
There are 2 colours to choose from, and all the items are reversible.
The pink design features a super cute Hello Kitty surrounded by seashells, crabs and starfish. The Hello Kitty Women’s One Piece Swimsuit has a V-neckline and full bottom coverage. Rest assured that it’ll stay put even if you’re swimming laps in the pool or running after your kids.
The kids’ version comes in a two-piece set made up of a swim tank with adjustable straps and a bikini bottom.
If you are feeling a more minimalist look, you can easily flip the swimsuit around and voilà, you’ve got yourself a solid pink swimsuit with a subtle polka dot scallop design. The kids’ version has the same print with the addition of an outline of Hello Kitty’s face in silver.
The blue design has a more nautical take, featuring Hello Kitty’s silhouette, beach balls, fishes, flowers and sailboats.
Flip the swimsuit inside out and you have yourself a whole new swimsuit. From a distance, it looks like a simple blue and white striped design. Look closer and you’ll see that the red parts are in fact Hello Kitty’s name and signature bow repeated as motifs across the swimwear.
Again, the Girl’s Swim Tank also features Hello Kitty’s outline in silver, sitting front and centre.
The Hello Kitty Women’s One Piece Swimsuit – Reversible is retailing for $149.90 each. The Hello Kitty Girl’s Swim Tank – Reversible and Hello Kitty Girl’s Bikini Bottom – Reversible are retailing for $49.90 and $39.90 each respectively.

In addition to the swimsuits, there are also rash guards in pink and blue.
The Hello Kitty Women’s Zip Rash Guard comes in pink with Hello Kitty’s face in silver on the top left corner. The long-sleeve rash guard has a full front zip and offers UPF 50+ sun protection to block out over 99% of harmful UVA and UVB rays.
The girls’ design combines the solid pink colour with the kawaii pink print.
Similarly, the blue rash guards adopt the same concept. The adult’s version is a striped rash guard with the same Hello Kitty bow graphics and a full front zip while the kids’ version combines both of the reversible designs.
The Hello Kitty Women’s Zip Rash Guard is retailing for $115 each while the Hello Kitty Girls’ Rash Guard is retailing for $59.90 each.
Put on these matching Hello Kitty swimsuits and have a ball of a time playing with your daughter or niece in the pool or at the beach.
The August Society x Hello Kitty collection is already available on August Society’s website. The collection will also be available at level 3 of Takashimaya Singapore from 18 November to 1 December 2020. You can try all the styles IRL and have fun with the Hello Kitty selfie mirror while you’re at it.
