The start of a new year usually brings about hope and renewed energy. But being reminded by daily headlines that we’re still in the Covid era bursts that bubble… thanks Omicron. To save you from feeling sian, Joya Onsen Cafe is launching a weekday promo of $22 nett entry to their public onsens from now till 31 May 2022, so you can soak your worries away.
For the unacquainted, Joya Onsen Cafe is a relatively new spa and onsen located in the West – about a 9-minute stroll from Joo Koon MRT. You’ll get the full experience to trick your mind into thinking you’re in Japan, which is considerably the next best thing since Japan has yet to open their borders to tourists.
A 1-day pass usually costs $38/pax, but with the ongoing weekday promo, entry is only $22 nett for a 2-hour time limit in their public baths. This works perfect for a relaxing evening after work or school, especially if you need an excuse to be away from your phone’s work and social media notifications.
Do note it’s a BYOT situation for this promo – Bring Your Own Towel – as none will be provided on-site. You can soak up to 2 hours from the time on your receipt, with every additional 15 minutes at a $5 surcharge. The promo is valid from Mondays to Fridays excluding public holidays, and other discounts are not valid or stackable.
Besides the bath, the public onsen also has saunas and ice baths to let you feel like a Katy Perry song, aka hot and cold. Water stations are also available to quench your thirst and stay hydrated.
While your stay in the public onsen is limited to 2 hours, you are still entitled to dine at the cafe after returning your locker keys. Featuring tatami mats and low tables, the cafe lets you experience the traditional Japanese way of dining.
The menu includes sweet and savoury bites like sushi and fruit parfait, if being in a steaming hot bath works up your appetite.
Whether you’re sick of working from home or exhausted by the constant commuting to the office, a spa session is always a good idea to give your mind and body a break. With Joya Onsen Cafe’s weekday promo, you won’t have to wait until the weekend to treat yourself.
