Solidifying its reputation as an exemplary educational institution in Korea, SOPA has recently partnered with SMRC by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a K-pop international high school, SOPA-SMRC.
They invite students from across the world to immerse themselves in a K-pop-centric educational programme. Yup, that means even you could enrol in the school.
Classes will be conducted entirely in English by faculty members of SOPA, offering a variety of performing arts programmes such as singing, dancing, and acting. Given that the current curriculum at SOPA incorporates subjects like science, mathematics, and languages alongside these specialised classes, there is a possibility that SOPA-SMRC will adopt a similar system.
At the time of writing, SMRC has yet to reveal enrolment details and the estimated launch date of the K-pop international high school.
The success of the K-Pop industry has inspired countless individuals to pursue their dream of becoming a K-pop idol, and the establishment of SOPA-SMRC will serve as a stepping stone for those who aspire to enter Korean showbiz. Perhaps with this new K-pop international high school, we might just uncover budding talents that bring pride to our nation.
