Magikarp Sneakers
ICYMI, just last year, fashion designer Void Reincarnation created Squirtle sneakers that come with built-in water tubes to shoot water at your enemies IRL. It seems like the designer isn’t running out of ideas for creative Pokémon sneakers anytime soon. This time round, as crazy as it sounds, Void Reincarnation has created Magikarp sneakers that can actually swim in water.
The sneakers
The sneakers come decked in pastel blue hues inspired by the sea, where Magikarp can be caught with a fishing rod. A large Magikarp design is attached to the side of the sneaker along with its level and HP bar, a familiar sight to avid Pokémon trainers.
A small symbol of a Water-Type logo that is typically seen on Pokémon playing cards appears on the heel tab.
Don’t underestimate Magikarp’s signature move set “Splash”. While it has no effect on any Pokémon in the games, Void Designer has shown us that even a small flick of its tail can go a long way.
When placed in water, the sneaker floats, almost as if it is showing off the move set “Surf”. Void Designer even hilariously captioned the video “The Jesus 1s”, implying that you can walk on water when wearing these sneakers.
The sneakers also come with a propelling Magikarp tail on the back. It isn’t just for show — according to their Instagram page, the sneakers can actually move when placed in a tub of water.
The tail vigorously swishes from side to side to propel the sneaker forward, looking as if the “Magikarp” is really swimming.
We don’t recommend you challenging a Level 100 Mewtwo with these sneakers though, despite Void Reincarnation’s adorable edit of them in a Pokémon battle. As of now, there’s no information on how trainers can get their hands on these sneakers yet. Stay tuned to Void Reincarnation’s website for more information.
