In the blink of an eye, we’re already halfway through October, and it was only two months ago since we were introduced to the Top 10 finalists of Miss Universe Singapore 2022.
Now, we have a winner who will represent Singapore at an international level after the grand finals of the Miss Universe Singapore 2022 that was held on 17 October 2022.
The honourable title of Miss Universe Singapore 2022 went to Carissa Yap, a 22-year-old business student at the National University of Singapore. Having impressed the judges with her intelligence and confidence during the Q&A rounds of the grand finals, Carissa stood out from the other pageant hopefuls.
Apart from showcasing her wit, Carissa also won the hearts of the judges when she walked down the runway dressed in a gorgeous yellow evening gown. That’s not all ‒ her fit physique was also noticeable when she was spotted wearing a set of matching activewear during the athleisure wear round.
With the conclusion of Miss Universe Singapore 2022, Carissa will now get ready for Miss Universe 2022 as a Singapore representative which is set to take place in the U.S next year in January.
As the beauty pageant-themed comedy movie Miss Congeniality mentioned “we are all winners”, you have to acknowledge the effort that the contestants of Miss Universe Singapore 2022 put in. From routine practices to attending workshops, participating in a beauty pageant is never an easy task.

Although they weren’t crowned Miss Universe Singapore 2022, Yvonne Sashirekha and Denissia Delange received the titles of 1st and 2nd runner-up respectively. Both ladies were also presented with their sustainable trophies made from homegrown wood of the Angsana trees found in our country.
With her new title as Miss Universe Singapore 2022 in her hands, Carissa Yap will now make her way to Miss Universe 2022 as our nation’s representative. As we congratulate her win, we also wish her all the best for the upcoming international beauty pageant.
