All the final couples from Single’s Inferno 4
The 4th season of Netflix’s hit reality dating show Single’s Inferno has concluded with its long-awaited finale. Every episode of the series had viewers on the edge as they eagerly anticipated interactions from their favourite ships. This week, Singles’ Inferno 4 culminated with the contestants picking their final choices after 10 gruelling days on a remote island. Did your preferred pairings make it out of the Inferno hand in hand? Let’s find out.
The singles who were left stranded
Chung You Jin
Known for her bubbly personality and infectious laughter, Jun Seo was disarmed by You Jin’s bright smile and chose her for his first Paradise date. The two seemed off to a promising start, as You Jin was gifted a sweet and thoughtful floral drawing by Jun Seo. However, his interest in her quickly dwindled after their return to Inferno, where he was under the mistaken assumption that she was into Tae Oh.
From there on, You Jin grew disappointed in Jun Seo’s indifference towards her and switched her attention to Dong Ho. However, it came as no surprise when Dong Ho picked someone else, as he had gently turned her down the night before.
Jang Tae Oh
Smitten by Si An ever since their first encounter, Tae Oh is known for his sweet and unwavering interest in her. Some praise his loyalty while others think that he exhibited signs of a love bomber. However, the majority of the audience still labelled him the season’s biggest green flag. Despite Si An being his only choice from the beginning, he has never once pressured her into picking him nor showed disdain when she contemplated between him and the other male contestants. Sadly, his sincerity was not reciprocated as she did not end up choosing him.
Kim Jeong Su
Deemed a red flag by the internet, Jeong Su was first romantically linked to Si An after spending their first Paradise date together. After his second time in Paradise, this time with Hye Jin, she started developing feelings for him. This love triangle was made more complex when Hae Lin joined the show and set her eyes on him. However, Hye Jin and Hae Lin both dropped him after. Both girls felt that he was leading them on despite how he was most interested in Si An and claimed that Hae Lin looked like his ideal type. Although he spent the last night with Si An in Paradise, Jeong Su was unable to win her over and was left stranded on the island.
Kim Min Seol
Min Seol is known for her straightforward nature. After falling for Jun Seo during their time in Paradise, she actively looked for opportunities where they could interact and constantly vocalised her interest in him. Min Seol continued to go after Jun Seo despite his obvious affection for Si An. Her determined mindset impressed fans, as she believed in fighting for a chance with Jun Seo despite how low the odds were. In the end, Min Seol was not chosen by Jun Seo, who seemed to treat her platonically.
Park Hae Lin
A latecomer to the show, Hae Lin appeared in the 5th episode as someone oozing confidence and charisma. She picked Jeong Su and Dong Ho for separate dates and was initially more attracted to the former. However, her interest switched to Dong Ho when she felt that Jeong Su was giving her mixed signals. Despite Dong Ho communicating his interest in A Rin, Hae Lin still ended up choosing him for a second date in Paradise. Ultimately, despite her attempts to win his heart in the remaining time they had, she was not selected by him.
The couples who escaped Inferno
Bae Ji Yeon and Kim Tae Hwan
All seemed smooth sailing between Ji Yeon and Tae Hwan, whose feelings had always been mutual and exclusive. However, things went south during their first time in Paradise when Ji Yeon felt that Tae Hwan was more concerned with himself and lacked consideration for her. Some examples include walking ahead without being attentive to her pace, only talking about himself, and not reciprocating her questions. Tae Hwan also mentioned his belief in staying single despite Ji Yeon’s dreams of starting a family. This led to Ji Yeon rightfully wondering if Tae Hwan truly liked her. However, they both talked it out when Ji Yeon confronted him. Tae Hwan assured her that he was open to changing his ideologies for the person he liked. After clearing up the air, they paired up and walked off into the sunset.
Kim A Rin and Kook Dong Ho
Dong Ho was the most popular male candidate of the season. Despite the female contestants who were interested in him, he had always stayed true to A Rin, making sure to reject You Jin and Hae Lin in case he led them on. Dong Ho was naturally more attracted to A Rin as they shared many similarities. They both live and work in the same places and even share the same birthday month. Talk about the red string theory. They were arguably the most wholesome couple, with healthy communication and no mind games involved. During the selection ceremony, Dong Ho asked A Rin if they could meet up after the show, suggesting that he saw a future with her and was open to committing to a relationship.
Kim Hye Jin and Ahn Jong Hoon
Hye Jin had an interest in Jong Hoon ever since his first appearance, having voted for him as the new male addition. After losing feelings for Jeong Su, she decided to move on and focus on getting to know Jong Hoon. Similarly, Jong Hoon expressed an interest in Hye Jin, even telling her that she resembled a doll during a flirty exchange. In an interview, he confessed that she was on his mind during his time in Paradise. This led to Jong Hoon being unable to concentrate on his interactions with You Jin. Despite the couple not having much screen time, fans were delighted when they picked each other and left Inferno together.
Lee Si An and Yuk Jun Seo
Season 4 has been dubbed “Si An’s Inferno”, and for good reason. Si An was the most popular female contestant, with Tae Oh, Jeong Su, and Jun Seo pining for her attention. Admittedly, while watching the first few episodes, I expected her to end up with either Tae Oh or Jeong Su. However, Si An and Jun Seo developed feelings for each other despite their initial lack of attraction.
Irrespective of Tae Oh’s unwavering feelings and Jeong Su’s gentle demeanour, Si An ended up choosing Jun Seo, who has ironically been deemed the season’s biggest red flag. Many felt that he led Min Seol on by asking her if she wanted to go to Paradise, only to pick someone else. Even Si An was frustrated by his lack of consideration when he addressed her brusquely. Despite the ups and downs of their relationship, Si An had previously stated that she was seeking a “fiery, passionate romance” and one that would let her experience a “whirlwind” of emotions.
