1. Halloween Horror Nights

Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) is the crowning jewel on Singapore’s Halloween events calendar each year. If you fancy yourself a night scared out of your wits, then book yourself tickets to Southeast Asia’s largest Halloween event at Universal Studios. Held from now till 28 November 2024, this 12th iteration of HHN has 4 haunted houses—including 1 by GOT7’s Jackson Wang—3 scare zones, live shows, and even a hidden spooky speakeasy to check out for some tipples.

2. Haw Ror Villa 3

If Haw Par Villa’s Hell Museum isn’t scary enough, they’re throwing Haw Ror Villa 3 in honour of Halloween. Haw Par Villa will be split into 3 zones, each with its own array of scares and/or activities. Zone 1 is an escape room set in Hell’s Museun. Zone 2 is a murder mystery game where you have to solve a crime while fending off restless spirits. Finally, Zone 3 is the Shaman’s Bazaar, an artisan’s market where brands sell their themed wares. No spooks here, but you get to lie down in a real coffin and snap photos if you dare.

3. Scuro Horror Art Jamming

If the demons are all in your mind, unleash them at Scuro, Singapore’s only horror-themed art jamming studio. From now till 31 October, the studio has set up shop in Outram Park and is available for booking. Prices start at $20 per person if you’re a student, or $28 per person if you’re an adult, for the unguided option. Guided options are available too, from $38 per person. 

The studio’s vibes are immaculately spooky, and you even get to sip on “blood bags” as you paint. Bookings must be made at least a day in advance.

Exhibitions in Singapore for October 2024

4. The World of Studio Ghibli

Relive the sets from your favourite films at the The World of Studio Ghibli exhibition, held at the Marina Bay Sands Art Science Museum. The immersive exhibition takes you through some of the studio’s most iconic film sets, from My Neighbour Totoro to Spirited Away, with photo opportunities aplenty.

5. Cartoons Underground

Southeast Asia’s largest animation festival is coming to town on 19 October. Held at The Projector, patrons will get to watch 9 international films and 5 films by NTU students put on the big screen. Spanning 93 minutes, cinephiles are in for a treat. Some highlights include a short by Olivia Griselda and Sarah Cheok chronicling a middle-aged woman who gets addicted to her vibrator, and another by Dahee Jong that examines a society where everyone is made of clothes.

6. Monet Inside

Monet Inside takes an immersive art exhibition to a whole new level. Here, you get to walk through life-sized projections of Monet’s paintings, accompanied by a special score. There are over 200 masterpieces to feast your eyes upon, set across 5 different arenas. From “Water Lillies” to his more obscure paintings, this exhibition has something for art buffs and Monet newbies alike.

7. illumi

9. Baybeats 2024
