If you’ve ever been to Seoul, you’ll know the city has a crazy, vibrant nightlife. From parties which go on till sunrise, and clubs that open seven-days a week, Seoul is a place where you can party till you drop.

However, unless you live in the South Korean capital, it’s almost impossible to hit up all the hotspots in the city. If you’re not sure where to get lit, here’s a list of clubs our resident expert on all things Korean, Leah Shannon, recommends us to check out.

Gangnam district

1. Octagon

Ranked 5th best club in the world, Octagon appeals to the older crowd (>26 years old). The club has an EDM zone and a hip-hop lounge. The place has strict dress codes so if you do plan to visit, dress up.

2. Monkey Museum

Owned by K-pop Idol Seungri of Big Bang, Monkey Museum is one of your best bets if you want to spot Korean celebrities. Grab a friend and try their bucket-style drinks while you vibe to the hip-hop/R&B music played at this intimate lounge.

If you’re into house and EDM, check out Club Cocoon. The only downside to this club is that they ask for foreigners to pay an entrance fee.

4. NB2 Hip Hop Club

Owned by YG, NB2 is a hip-hop club patronised by a younger club. With its cheap entry and low alcohol prices, you’re in for a wild night out.

5. Club Cream

What sets hip-hop club, Cream, apart from the pack is their open mic night. The session gives aspiring rappers a chance to showcase their art and you can even have rap battles with fellow contestants.

Like NB2, Club Gabbia is owned by YG. Though less crowded the club still plays good music and is popular with Korean celebs and rappers including MINO, One, Sik-K, Gray.

One of the trendiest It clubs in Seoul right now, Cakeshop is a small, cozy space which plays hip-hop music. The dance floor is usually packed with extremely well-dressed, good-looking Millennials as the bouncers are said to be extremely selective about who they let in.
