The year of the ox is upon us in 2021 and ETUDE is celebrating with a milk-themed collection dubbed the Milky New Year series.
Split into 3 “flavours”, the collection includes Banana Milk, Blueberry Milk and Strawberry Milk sets. Each set includes an eyeshadow palette and blusher, all of which come in boxes resembling milk cartons.
As with the ETUDE x By Invite Only collaboration, the Play Color Eyes palettes in the Milky New Year collection include 9 pans that mix shimmery and matte shades. The warm-toned pink colours in the Strawberry Milk palette make for a cute soft glam look, perfect for Chinese New Year.
The Strawberry Milk line also includes a light pink blusher. Unlike the other blushers from ETUDE, this one comes in a translucent square pan, fit for minimalists. The collection is represented by a black and white cow that is often found on packaging for milk.
The cow is embossed into the blusher, accompanied by the words “milky soft”, which likely reflects how it will make your skin look.
Contrary to what its name might suggest, the Blueberry Milk Play Color Eyes palette does not actually consist of purple or blue shades. Instead, the shades are cool-toned, suitable for those with blue or purple undertones.
The Blueberry Milk blush is a lilac shade that will complement the eyeshadow look you create using the palette.

The third and final “flavour” is of course Banana Milk, one of Korea’s most popular drinks. While the previous 2 lines focused on either warm or cool tones, the Banana Milk Play Color Eyes palette incorporates both, and even adds neutral shades.
The brown, champagne and peach shades in this palette are suitable for everyday looks for when you’re headed to the office or lunch with friends.
The Banana Milk blush is a pastel orange shade that gives you a natural-looking flush on your cheeks. Similar to the palette, it is also a neutral tone that anyone can wear.
Aside from the eyeshadow palettes and blushers, the Milky New Year collection also has a Milk Tone Up Base. The base is meant to be used as a moisturiser that brightens your skin. It even protects your skin from the sun as it has an SPF rating of 30.
The makeup base comes in a box that looks just like a mini milk carton to suit the theme of the collection.
From ETUDE’s Instagram, it looks like some of its popular skincare products might also be redesigned and included in this collection. The Hydro Barrier Cream from its Soon Jung line can be found in the corner of the photo with a new box and the same cow on the bottle.
To celebrate the New Year, ETUDE will be launching the Milky New Year collection globally on 1 January 2021. Stay tuned to ETUDE Singapore’s Instagram to find out more about how you can get your hands on the collection in Singapore.
