With the holiday season approaching fast, many of us are wracking our brains to find the perfect gifts for our loved ones. To save you the hassle of looking for a quirky yet memorable present, KFC Spain might just have the foolproof gift that is bound to earn laughter from your recipient. Drum roll, please… a chicken drumstick-shaped holiday fragrance.
We’ve seen KFC release exclusive fashion items, such as the Wrapuette Bag, and this time around, the fast food chain is switching things up by introducing fragrance merchandise.
And before you ask, “Is this a joke?” ‒ it is not. KFC has even filmed an ad in the coastal dunes of Spain’s Canary Islands.
Known as Eau D’uardo, the fragrance pays homage to a viral meme from the KFC Christmas campaign in 2021, where mundane objects were given Spanish names. As advertised by KFC, the unisex fragrance is infused with essences of geranium, mandarin, bergamot, and pink pepper ‒ inspired by Colonel Sanders’ signature spice blend. Yum.
As a highlight of the golden-brown chicken thigh design, the fragrance opens with a cap on one end, and features a spritz mechanism to release the fragrance. It even “stands” on its own when placed vertically.
According to a Reddit user who bought the fragrance, he commented that Eau D’uardo has a “very masculine scent”. So if you know someone who enjoys perfumes with woody and musky notes, Eau D’uardo might just be a suitable present this holiday season.
As much as we’d love to have the Eau D’uardo in our hands, the exclusive fragrance isn’t a global release. Interested folks may need to source freight forwarding services that ship to Singapore.
In the meantime, those residing in Spain can purchase Eau D’uardo at any KFC outlet at €3.99 (~S$5.79) with any menu.
