Kiehl’s Has An Exhibition With Recycled Trash, Flight Giveaways To NYC & Signed Bright Vachirawit Postcards

Kiehl’s NYC Subway Trash To Art Pop-Up Event

A flight from Singapore to New York takes around 18 hours. But an MRT ride down to Orchard Road? We’ll say 45 minutes tops from wherever you live. Bringing New York City right here to our Little Red Dot, Kiehl’s now has a new pop-up at ION Orchard known as Kiehl’s NYC Subway: Trash To Art.

FYI, this isn’t the first time Kiehl’s is having a subway-themed pop-up. Just last year, the skincare brand held a successful installation with a similar concept. For those who missed it, not to fret. From now until 13 September 2023, you can snap IG-worthy pictures, participate in giveaways and even get your hands on a signed Bright Vachirawit postcard here.

Kiehl’s NYC Subway: Trash To Art

No matter if you’re a skincare junkie or an environmentalist, there’s something for everyone at this pop-up. Upon arriving at Basement 4 of ION Orchard, you’ll be greeted by a unique Super Tree installation at the pop-up entrance, situated next to a silhouette of the New York City subway.

Fun fact: The tree is made of empty Kiehl’s product bottles, paying tribute to Kiehl’s customers who have been recycling their products to support a greener earth.

Don’t miss out on the “Empire State Building”, “Big Apple” and “Calendula My Forever Blooms” installations, all made with upcycled and eco-sustainable materials. These entrancing artworks are pretty much a real-life example of the proverb “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.

The art installations and sculptures were created with the theme “Trash to Art” in mind, in collaboration with local artists Stephanie Jane Burt, Joyce Orallo Lim and Maisarah Kamal.

Pose for the ‘gram and travel through time and space at the Time Travel Tunnel, decked with LED lights plastered along the floor to ceiling. Here, visitors can discover Kiehl’s journey from 1851 to 2023, and take photos with the futuristic backdrop. NGL, the colours are giving us Star Wars vibes.

Interactive stations

There’s one word that Singaporeans love hearing the most: free”. Visitors can head over to the Skincare Academy station and get a complimentary deep skin analysis to find out more about their skin issues.

With the Kiehl’s Derma-Reader Pro, you will be able to receive personalised skincare solutions on the spot. You can think of this session as a way of communicating with your skin, since obviously, our skin can’t actually tell us what it needs.

For those who feel inspired by the Trash to Art sculptures, you can also do your part by bringing your recyclable bottles here. The best part? Kiehl’s is accepting empties from all beauty brands exclusively at the pop-up, so be sure to make use of this opportunity to declutter while going green at the same time.

This station also features Kiehl’s latest refillable solutions in skincare, hair and body products. Customers can continue purchasing their fave products in a more sustainable manner and receive a reward by recycling the empties with Kiehl’s.

Bright Vachirawit set

That’s not all — for those who are constantly scrolling on TikTok, you may have heard of the #GlassSkin trend. Discover the Morning C + Night A Glass Skin Capsule station, featuring antioxidant morning C formulation from the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution and the renewing night A from the Retinol Daily Micro-Dose Serum.

Embark on a new Glass Skin journey with the Bright C+A Starter Kit, inclusive of a Retinol Micro-dose, Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution and a photocard signed by Thai actor Bright Vachirawit.

The starter kit retails at $149, and aims to help achieve even and luminous skin tone.

As if these perks aren’t enough, you can also stand a chance to win a pair of tickets to New York and ride the iconic subway IRL. This package includes a 4-hour Liberty and Ellis Island Tour, and customers who spend $250 nett will be eligible to participate.

The contest period runs from 1 to 13 September 2023. Only one lucky winner will be selected, so make sure to stock up on your top Kiehl’s skincare products while you can.

Upon the completion of the full subway experience, visitors will also receive a complimentary 6-piece sample kit and an exclusive Kiehl’s drawstring bag. Find out more information about the Kiehl’s NYC Subway: Trash to Art pop-up on Kiehl’s website
