When it comes to beauty and skincare products, it’s almost impossible to leave out Korean brands from your routine. With its international popularity, K-beauty products are often known for their high quality ingredients that has us hoping to recreate our dream K-idol look.
Inspired by Jeju Island motifs, skincare brand Ksisters has just launched a new pop-up experience filled with the scent of cypress and soothing sounds of nature. From now until 11 September 2022, “travel” to Jeju and immerse yourself in a full K-beauty experience with new products, IG-worthy photo spots and exclusive merch.
Hidden in a cosy corner at Crane Living at Joo Chiat Road, guests are welcomed to an entrance decorated with bright yellow balloons inspired by yellow canola flower fields found in Jeju Island. Despite the small entrance, these colours made the pop-up fairly easy to spot.
Upon stepping into the pop-up space, be prepared to be whisked away into a mini Jeju Island right here in our little red dot. You’ll immediately be treated to an array of Ksisters’ most coveted brands, complete with natural decorations of flowers and rocks.
Each guest will also be treated to adorable stickers featuring the iconic Dol Hareubang, aka large stone statues found on Jeju Island, canola flowers and tangerines.
Every corner of the pop-up serves as an aesthetic visual fest to snap a few Korea-inspired OOTDs. From the Jung Island corner with camping chairs and floating flower petals to large mirrors placed around the room, you’re all set to pretend you’re away on a holiday.
Shop limited edition Ksisters beauty products from their best-selling Jeju-themed skincare. These brands include Lavien, Pink Wonder and OHIOHOO and more lifestyle items. Some of their highlights include the new Jung Beauty Probiotic Eye Serum (right) that depuffs and smoothes the skin.
I was lucky enough to have met Jungmin Lee, the founder of Ksisters, while I was there. She gave a full demonstration of how to use the eye serum on my wrist, which immediately felt light and cooling on my skin.
Customers will be able to try on these products at the space too, and QR codes are available around the store for more information and purchasing.
Fans of Ksisters can also snag limited edition merch as “souvenirs” to take home from visiting Jung Island. Caps and scarves are decked in a pastel yellow palette that remind us of the gentle canola flowers, retailing at $19 each.
Here’s a bit of insider information: the Jung Beauty x Cosmic Mansion Candle is a hot item among aromatherapy fans due to its unique and relaxing scent. Titled “Garden Rain”, the candle is retailing at $52 each.
Lastly, tote bags, worth $60 each, are available for redemption with a minimum spending of $180 in a single receipt.
Finish off your Jeju Island escape with refreshing ice cream in a collaboration with Kooks Creamery. Choose between two flavours of Jeju Sunshine (Apricot Yogurt) and Jeju Breeze (Blueberry Yogurt). Personally, I would recommend Jeju Sunshine for those who have a sweet tooth.
Don’t forget to stop by the Bojagi workshop session, available at $10 per entry. FYI, Bojagi is a special form of textile art with traditional Korean wrapping cloth, so you can impress your BFFs the next time you wrap a special gift. Participants will also receive a complimentary $15 Jung Beauty voucher applicable for online products.
For skincare junkies who are looking for new skincare products to level up your daily routine, head down to Ksisters’ Jung Island pop-up to test them out before purchasing. With its relaxing and calm atmosphere, perhaps this experience might even inspire you to book your next holiday to Jeju Island ASAP.
