Nike Air Max 90 For CNY
In case the Gong Xi Gong Xi tunes drowning out the Christmas jingles aren’t enough of a reminder, Chinese New Year is coming. If you’ve been triggered to start prepping your CNY outfits, Nike has got your back with a pair of trainers that will complete any look.
Gearing up for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Nike is releasing a new iteration of its iconic Air Max 90.
Nike Air Max 90’s design
A nod to Japan’s flag, the shoe is decked out mostly in white, contrasted by a rich red shade. The red hue can be found on the bottom half of the lace base, on the back of the shoe tongue, and the front and back of the outsole.
The classic Nike swoosh is covered in a luxe gold, inspired by the Olympics’ top medal. The Air Max patches on the side and heel of the shoe are also adorned in gold. As a final touch, Nike swapped out the branding on the shoe tongue with an apt 2020 graphic.
Asia-exclusive Air Max 1
For those who feel the new Olympic-inspired sneakers are too tame for their liking, Nike has an Asia-exclusive Air Max 1 in the pipeline too. The shoe is dressed up in pink, blue and yellow, embellished with Chinese letters, butterfly motifs and dragon prints.
