In the blink of an eye, we’re already approaching the halfway point of 2022. But before jumping right into June, let’s not forget an important milestone to celebrate — Pride Month. If you’re looking for new sneakers to complete your Pink Dot OOTD, Nike is celebrating Pride with their latest Dunk Lows in a chio pastel palette.
This isn’t Nike’s first rodeo with their Pride collection. Nike has been releasing apparel annually to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community in a collection titled “Be True”.
At first glance, the Nike Dunk Low sneakers appear to be decked in full white, finished with pastel pink and blue shoelaces: a colour on each side.
Slip on these sneakers and take a walk in the sunlight for a big surprise — splotches of red, orange, blue, green and yellow will begin to appear on the upperway. This design is a great message that literally reminds us not to judge based on appearances.
The iconic Nike swoosh on the side is done up in colourful stitches with a rainbow gradient, matching the radiant “BE TRUE” embroidery on the heels.
Impress your friends with these neon pink and green heel tabs, featuring the embossed Nike logo. Underneath the tongue are, once again, etched the phrase “BE TRUE”.
Sneakerheads will also be treated to orange and green gradient insoles for comfortable, bold steps whenever you head out in these kicks.
The unique pastel Nike Dunk Low sneakers are the newest addition to the Be True 2022 collection. Last year, Nike unveiled the Vintage Be True (left) and Infinity Run FK 2 Be True (right) sneakers that are still available for fans to cop.
Each sneaker design features a different variation of the colourful Nike swoosh, perfect for switching up between a date night or a jogging session.
With any purchase of sneakers from the Be True 2022 collection, customers are also entitled to an exclusive shoe box. The words “BE TRUE” feature on the lid, alongside a gradient swoosh to celebrate the different colours and identities of the LGBTQIA+ community.
As Nike continues its tradition of Pride Month releases, we’re constantly treated to new sneakers to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community. As of now, there is no set release date for the Be True Dunk Low sneakers yet, but we can expect them to be launched just in time for Pride Month in June.
In the meantime, head over to Nike’s online website to purchase other items from the Be True collection while waiting for these new kicks to drop.
