Rom&nd x Sanrio Makeup Collection Has My Melody & Kuromi Designs, Comes In Game Boy Packaging

When it comes to beauty products, there’s no doubt that Korea has some of the best. For many tourists, it’s impossible to visit Olive Young, aka Korea’s version of Watsons or Guardian, and not walk out with a bag full of new products. 

Rom&nd is a Korean makeup brand that can’t be missed, with their iconic lippies constantly trending on TikTok. Now, Rom&nd is introducing a new Sanrio collab featuring lip glosses, eyeshadow palettes and nail polish inspired by My Melody and Kuromi.

While the collection is set to be released on 1 July 2023, TikTok users have shared that some products are already available at Olive Young stores in Korea. Fans can get an adorable sun cushion with Kuromi’s cheeky face on the cover, complete with a matching purple cushion puff.

A Korean Twitter user, @sorkqkfh_goxo, has also uploaded photos after swatching the lip glosses on her hand. Based on her review, the My Melody lip gloss has a light pink shade, whereas the Kuromi lip gloss has a darker purple hue.

The collection also features a Kuromi water lip gloss, aka a transparent gloss that gives your lips a dewy glow without any coloured tint.

Rom&nd teased on their website that there will be two more mini glosses in Kuromi and My Melody shades. Since the collaboration concept is based on old school game aesthetics, we’re hoping that the products will also come in a similar gameboy packaging as shown on the website.

Go for either a smokey eye or sweet pastel pink makeup look with the Kuromi and My Melody eyeshadow palettes. The palettes showcase motifs of the two bunny characters and their related symbols, such as a skull for Kuromi and cherries for My Melody.

The Rom&nd x Sanrio Makeup Collection Will Be Available From 1 July 2023

The Rom&nd x Sanrio makeup collection will be available from 1 July 2023 onwards in all Olive Young stores in Korea. While we’re not sure if these products will make its way to our stores here, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that they will be available on Olive Young’s global website, which ships directly to Singapore.
