It’s that time of the year again. We’re talking about sakura season, which also means the arrival of eagerly anticipated sakura collections. Last year, Starbucks Japan, Korea and Singapore each launched their own line of sakura-themed merch. Now, Starbucks Japan is kicking things off with the first drop of its sakura 2021 collection, with the theme “sakura breath”. The pastel-hued mugs, tumblers and other items range from ¥350 (~S$4.39) to ¥4,500 (~S$56.40).
Starbucks Japan’s sakura collection in 2020 saw a series of pink mugs and tumblers. This year, shades of blue, purple and yellow have been added into the mix for a refreshing spin.
Cute and functional drinkware is a staple in every Starbucks collection. In this series, there are, of course, cherry blossom-themed tumblers, bottles and mugs. If you enjoy a hot cup of coffee, there are options like the 355ml pink tumbler with pink, white and purple flowers lining the sides.
Or, if iced drinks are your cup of tea, the 473ml blue tumbler might better suit your tastes.
This year, Starbucks Japan is also selling a mini cup gift set. Place it on your desk or shelf as an adorable ornament, or gift to a friend who really enjoys their daily dose of Starbucks.
Use the Stacking Ceramic Case as a decorative piece to store your jewellery with ease. It is shaped like a cherry blossom flower and has 2 layers in case you have a lot of bling to store.
Other items include decorative cards and Bearista charms to hang from your bag as you pop by Starbucks for your cuppa.
Skip the plastic bag the next time you dabao your lunch with this traditional Japanese furoshiki. It is a wrapping cloth meant to transport your belongings. As part of the sakura collection, it is patterned with white and pink cherry blossoms against a pink and blue background.

Starbucks Reserve also has its own line of sakura merchandise. This year, aside from drinkware, it has also unveiled a series of jewellery such as necklaces and bracelets. These come in silver, rose gold and gold to match any of your outfits.
The first drop of Starbucks Japan’s 2021 sakura collection remains exclusive to Japan at the moment. However, seeing how popular Starbucks Singapore’s Sakura Blossoms series was in Singapore, we might see a new cherry blossom line on our shores soon too.
In the meantime, check out Daiso’s cherry blossom series for more sakura-themed products.
