This Unique Thrift Store At Haji Lane Has Sports Corsets & Reworked Kimonos To Style An Edgy Fit

Superwasted Singapore

For basic fashion essentials, it’s easy to hit up our nearest Love, Bonito or UNIQLO stores. But for those who want to look for clothes that will make you stand out amongst the crowd, thrift stores with curated and upcycled clothing are the way to go.

Located along Haji Lane, Superwasted is a thrift store with a unique concept — think disco balls, CD walls and movie posters. Customers can also shop for trendy sports corsets and reworked kimonos to zhng up your style.

The store

With flashing LED lights and an array of reflective CDs plastered along the walls, the exterior decor of Superwasted is no doubt an enticing sight. Inside, shoppers can also spot fish-eye and full length mirrors located in every corner, perfect for snapping pictures of your new fit.

Upon closer inspection of the CD wall, you’ll notice that customers are allowed to leave a personalised message on them. Or in this case, unhinged confessions.

The wall proudly presents anonymous secrets such as “I was kicked out of the house for dating my cousin” and “I dated my best friend’s ex unknowingly and to this day I feel guilty”.

Perhaps the next time you visit this store, you can leave a shocking confession of your own too.

Almost every corner around the store is a photo spot — from the disco balls hanging from the ceiling to a wall filled with movie posters. Even if you might not snag a new fit while you’re there, there’s no harm in taking some selfies against these 90s-inspired backdrops.

The store highlights unique clothes such as reworked sports corsets from various brands, available in different cuttings such as bustier and toga.

Don’t forget to check out the reworked kimonos and rubix patchwork trousers, which add a fun palette of colours to your outfit.

More apparel such as laced crop tops, reworked halter t-shirts and denim skirts are also available to purchase.
