UNIQLO’s New The Louvre Collection Has T-Shirts & Homeware Featuring Artworks From The Museum

UNIQLO The Lourve Collection

In Singapore, curated events like The Art of Dreams is a great way to get in touch with your artistic side. However, for those who miss travelling overseas to visit art and historical museums, UNIQLO brings the essence of Musée du Louvre through their The Lourve collection.

Featuring T-shirts and homeware, the collection is inspired by the masterpieces displayed in the museum. Continue reading to find out more about this aesthetically-pleasing collection.

T-shirts

In collaboration with Musée du Louvre, this collection features the illustrations of graphic artist Yu Nagaba. He selects from among more than 35,000 pieces of artwork found in the museum and is inspired by Greek sculptures, European paintings and Egyptian art.

On this white T-shirt, you’ll spot the motif of Musée du Louvre on the left chest region.

Whereas on the back, check out Yu Nagaba’s perspective of Western masterpieces like Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and Vermeer’s Astronomer. There are also motifs of La Grande Odalisque and The Great Sphinx of Tanis ‒ designs that will surely appeal to art enthusiasts.

If the new year is already treating you well and you’re feeling victorious, this T-shirt with the Victorie De Samothrace aka Goddess of Victory might be for you. Since it is available in a natural pink shade, it is a great option for those whose wardrobe largely consists of muted colour palettes.

Mona Lisa fans are going to Louvre this dark grey T-shirt as it features an adorable motif of the painting on the back.

Astronomy is always a topic of interest for many, and you get to reflect just that with this black T-shirt with Vermeer’s Astronomer.

Each T-shirt retails at $19.90.

Plates and Choko

Apart from T-shirts, Yu Nagaba’s illustrations are also found on plates and Choko aka soba cups in the collection. As they are made from traditional Japanese porcelain of pure white and painted in blue, they even double as aesthetic home decor.

Available in two designs, the first plate features the motif of the Mona Lisa painting with its name surrounding the edge. On the next plate, several motifs of other artworks like Aphrodite and the Lourve Pyramid seen on the T-shirts greet you as well.

You can use them to hold local delights like kueh for an afternoon snack or as a home for your knick knacks.

As the Choko are larger than the standard cup size, you can use them to hold your daily cuppa or warm soup for meals. Similar to the plates, they are also available in two designs ‒ Mona Lisa and the other artworks in Musée du Louvre.

Both the plate and Choko retails at $9.90 each and they will only be available online and at Orchard Central, ION Orchard, Vivo, Plaza Singapura, Tampines Mall UNIQLO outlets.
