Growing up, characters from Sailor Moon to Winnie The Pooh are part of our childhood memories. One of my all-time favourites is also Doraemon, as I recall learning about friendship and family from the robotic cat and his friends.
Recently, the manga franchise has collaborated with fashion brand Kipling for a six-piece collection that hit us hard with childhood nostalgia.
Sorry to disappoint, but these Doraemon-themed bags won’t work wonders like the magic pocket that the fictional character has. Instead, store your items with Delia, a backpack from this collection that comes with a kawaii motif of Doraemon on the front left corner.
The highlight of Delia is no doubt a keychain in the shape of Doraemon’s collar bell, which is repeated also on other items in the collection.
That’s not all ‒ Doraemon fans will be pleasantly surprised by the inside of the backpack which is lined with various motifs of the adorable cat.
In contrast to the navy base, red accents are also seen on the back alongside the ends of the adjustable straps.
The Delia retails at $219.
It’s hard not to love a mini-shoulder bag with multiple compartments, as they are practical and super useful when it comes to organisation. Check out the Gabbie Mini that comes with a red adjustable strap and features a Doraemon motif that appears to be nua-ing with its leg crossed.
The Gabbie Mini retails at $169.
Bucket bags are excellent alternatives to shoulder bags and handbags as they allow you to spruce up your usual OOTD. Enter the Labi, a drawstring bucket bag that comes with both a handle and detachable straps that offer you the chance to experiment with different looks.
Similar to the previous items, Labi also features a unique Doraemon motif ‒ this time, it is smiling with a hand covering its mouth.
The Labi retails at $189.
For the unacquainted, Kipling is known for their iconic tote bag. Available in a smaller version is the Mini Art that greets you with a motif of Doraemon’s face in the middle of the bag.
Thanks to its petite size, the dainty bag is perfect to store small items like loose coins and keys so you can access them fuss-free.
The Mini Art retails at $65.
Those who need a lil’ more storage space can consider the Hiphurray, a drawstring tote bag that comes with a simple yet stylish design. As the bag only features the Doraemon motif at the corner, fans of the character can also use this bag to subtly express their love for it.
The Hiphurray retails at $99.
Frequent concert-goers will know that it is best to bring in as little barang barang as possible into the venue ‒ consider the Superfun crossbody phone bag the next time you head for one.
Decked in navy and designed with a red detachable strap, the bag makes it convenient for those who carry only a few items with them. Rest assured your belongings will also be kept secure thanks to a magnetic clasp.
The Superfun retails at $119.
Riding on the fact that Doraemon is from the future, the Doraemon x Kipling collection is no doubt a chance for you to stay on top of fashion trends. All items from the collection are available for purchase at all Kipling boutiques.
