The Kai x Gucci Collection Is Landing In Singapore On 17 April 2021 & It’s Bear-y Cute

On 22 February 2021, Kai from EXO shook his fans with pictures of him modelling pieces from the Kai x Gucci collection. If you didn’t already know, Kai was appointed as the global ambassador for Gucci in 2019. With the singer’s collaboration, he has become the first Korean celeb to have a collection with Gucci under his belt. 

The collection debuted in Korea, before launching in stores in China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand and, of course, Singapore. Here’s a preview of what the pieces look like IRL, courtesy of fans who have already gotten their hands on the drop, so EXO-Ls can start planning their purchases before making their way to the Gucci ION Orchard store come 17 April 2021.

The collection

On top of the fact that Kai’s favourite animal is a bear, the bear-with-a-bow-tie motif in this collection is also inspired by one of his nicknames, “Nini Bear”. The nickname was given to him by EXO-Ls, EXO’s fanbase name, adding to the significance of the designs for fans.

The Kai x Gucci monogram jacket featuring the brand’s iconic red and green stripes along the side is a must-have if you’re both a Kai and Gucci stan.

Compared to the usual Gucci tee with the house’s logo, Kai’s version gives it a cute spin with the collection’s bow tie-clad teddy bear. 

Apart from clothes with the double G logo, the collection also includes more subtle items, such as the cardigan with the super adorable teddy bear embroidered on the left.

Of course, bags are also a key part of the collection. This crossbody bag designed in matching earthy tones with the bear’s face plastered in the centre is roomy enough to fit a brolly, especially handy considering the erratic weather we’ve been experiencing lately.
