When we think of Korean dramas and movies, the first thing that comes to mind is often cheesy romantic scenes where the lead couple eventually rides off into the sunset together. But with the rising popularity of the thriller genre in shows like Squid Game and The Penthouse, we’re also starting to see more M18 scenes on screen.
Most of the time, these rated movies also go hand in hand with raunchy sex scenes — a surprising element, considering Korea’s conservative society. We compiled 10 Korean movies with the hottest sex scenes that broke conventions — and for your guilty pleasure as well. *wink wink*

Real stars Kim Soo Hyun and the late K-pop idol Sulli from f(x) — a shock to fans as both actors had never done a mature genre prior to this film. Kim Soo Hyun plays Jang Tae Yeong, a gang boss and owner of a casino, who struggles with an alternate personality that controls his body.
In their intimate scene, Song Yoo Hwa, portrayed by Sulli, reveals her bare chest before giving Jang Tae Yeong a blowjob and eventually having sex.
Sex scenes in Korea are already considered taboo, but The Handmaiden takes it up a notch with a lesbian sex scene between Sook Hee and Hideko. What first began as a passionate one night stand soon evolved into romance between a heiress and her maid, in a plot that follows a series of betrayal, lust and violence.

There’s nothing as thrilling as a gambling film to get our blood pumping, and Tazza: The Hidden Card is the perfect film for fans who enjoy this genre. The story follows the protagonist Ham Dae Gil, played by Big Bang’s T.O.P, who was set up as a scapegoat in a gambling deal gone wrong.
Amidst the intense gambling scenes, there’s also a passionate sex scene between Ham Dae Gil and President Woo, played by Lee Hanee.
When it comes to Korean movies, it’s impossible to not think of Parasite, which won four Academy Awards — the very first South Korean film with this recognition.
While there’s nothing too explicit in the film, there was a pretty quick scene of Dong Ik and Yeon Kyo getting handsy on the couch. The couple fondle each other through their clothes, and the scene eventually gets cut before they reach their climax.

From the movie title alone, Empire of Lust, we can already tell it’s a dead giveaway on what we can expect to watch. While Song Ji Hyo is best known for being a regular cast member on the variety show Running Man since 2010, the actress also has a range of hit movies under her belt. Before joining Running Man, Song Ji Hyo acted in Frozen Flower in 2008, a period erotic thriller film which follows the characters going against royal protocol in pursuit of love.
Song Ji Hyo played Queen Han Ik-Bi, whose love rival is her own gay husband, and the couple struggle to gain the love of their Chief Royal Guard.
Obsessed features actress Lim Ji Yeon, who’s recognised for her role as Park Yeon-Jin in the hit K-drama, The Glory. This romance film presents a couple, a war hero Colonel Kim Jin-Pyeong and his neighbour’s wife Ga-Heun, having a passionate affair in a military camp.
Multiple spicy scenes are included in the film, including a car sex scene between the forbidden lovers.
A Muse, also known as Eungyo, is a romance film adapted from a novel. Be warned that this film contains disturbing mature themes, as the plot features a 70-year-old poet Lee Jeok-Yo, who falls in love with a 17-year-old high school girl, Eungyo, who works a part-time job cleaning his home. Inspired by his affection towards her, Jeok-Yo writes a short story imagining his sexual relationship with her.

Think Fifty Shades of Grey, but instead of the male character being the dominant in bed, it’s the female character. That’s Love and Leashes, which stars Seohyun, the youngest member of the K-pop girl group SNSD. The male lead is yet another K-pop idol, Jun from U-KISS.
Though the film doesn’t feature any extreme explicit sex scenes, one of the highlights include her putting a collar on her partner and whipping him while he acts like a dog.
