The gift
SourceYi Jing learnt through her history subject in secondary school about the 1000 paper crane myth. FYI, legend has it that folding 1000 paper cranes will grant the person’s wish. This inspired Yi Jing, and she felt deeply connected to this beautiful myth till this day.
SourceFor her boyfriend’s 21st birthday, she wanted to do something special other than treating him to a boujee buffet at Ritz Carlton. Even though she had COVID when she first started out preparing the present, Yi Jing continuously folded paper cranes until she completed 1000 of them. We stan dedication.
She even went out of her way to use 100 of the paper cranes to create a very colourful bouquet instead of using conventional flowers.
