DIY Wedding Magazine

Weddings are a huge deal and sometimes the event can get hectic. With so many things to do on the day itself, it might be hard to convey heartfelt feelings towards family and friends properly. So what better way to commemorate the special day and thank loved ones than a wedding magazine ― or should I say, “wedding-zine”?

Lemon8 and TikTok user, Regina aka @reglhy, along with her partner created their own DIY “wedding-zines” as party favours for their guests. It included sections dedicated to their loved ones, heartfelt gratitudes, travel pictures and photos from their pre-wedding shoot.

Instead of doing a long wedding speech, Regina and her now-husband had the vision of creating a wedding booklet as she and her partner were scared that they would be too emotional on their special day. Plus, they wanted to properly thank the most important people in their lives.

Regina also mentioned in her post that she dated her now-husband for 13 years, and in that duration, they  had many travel recommendations that they wanted to share with their guests which they translated into photos in the magazine. We stan an adventurous couple who doesn’t gatekeep.

With the power of Canva, the pair worked tirelessly for 6-months and paid $17.99 a month to create their masterpiece. The completed 16-page booklet included sections of their wedding shoot, their gratitudes for loved ones and even included bingo cards for a fun activity.

The sweetest part was the couple asked their bridal party what was their favourite moment of their friendship and included their answers in the introduction section. TBH if I was a part of their bridal party, this would highkey make me tear up.

They also engaged with a local printing service to print out 160 booklets for their guests, the total cost was just $600. Affordable and beautifully designed “wedding-zines”? Yes please.

On the wedding day itself, the physical copies were neatly placed at each seat so every guest could pick it up and read through it. Not only were the couple able to keep their speeches short and sweet, the “wedding-zines” made a cute souvenir for their family members and friends to take home too.
