Hello Kitty Kettle & Rice Cooker
Sanrio previously collaborated with Japanese brand Zojirushi on a Hello Kitty rice cooker. Now, it has teamed up with Filipino brand Tough Mama on Hello Kitty rice cooker and kettle designs too.
Tough Mama sells home and kitchen appliances from fans to washing machines and blenders. While the rest of its products are sleek and industrial chic, the Hello Kitty collection is an adorable exception. They’re so cute, in fact, that you’d almost think they were toys, not actual appliances to be used in the kitchen.
There are 2 colour schemes to choose from, red and pink. Prices for the Sanrio x Tough Mama Hello Kitty kettle and rice cooker collection range from ₱1,799 (~S$50.60) to ₱3,599 (~S$101.20).
Red design
Something as mundane as boiling water can now be fun with the Hello Kitty 1.8L Electric Kettle. The lid, handle, bottom and base of the kettle are in a bright chilli red. The body of the kettle is in white, featuring Hello Kitty drawing while surrounded by her toy bear, pet fish, alarm clock and a pencil jar.
Just because it looks like a toy doesn’t mean this isn’t a legit, fully functioning kettle. The double layered electric kettle has boil-dry protection and an automatic safety shut-off feature. It also has an LED light indicator and a 360-degree rotational base.
The Hello Kitty 1.8L Electric Kettle retails for ₱1,799 (~S$50.60).
Go for a matching set with the 1.2L Straight Type Rice Cooker. Again, the main body of the rice cooker is white, with red accents on the lid, handles and base. You can cook up to 6 cups of rice in it. A see-through glass lid lets you check in on your progress so you won’t have to worry about your rice becoming too mushy. It also comes with a steamer, spoon and measuring cup.
The Hello Kitty 1.2L Straight Type Rice Cooker retails for ₱2,118 (~S$59.50).

Pink design
While the red designs have a more vintage feel to them, the pink collection is sweet and feminine.
The top, side and bottom of the 2L Electric Kettle are in pastel pink. Hello Kitty herself is wearing pink too, ready to tuck into pink pastries and beverages.
Like the red kettle, it has boil-dry protection and an automatic safety shut-off feature. In addition, it has an inner stainless steel body and full copper wire for stability.
The Hello Kitty 2L Electric Kettle retails for ₱2,799 (~S$78.70).
Your guests would be forgiven for thinking your niece or daughter left her toy in the kitchen upon seeing the 1.5L Jar Type Rice Cooker. Similar to the red rice cooker, it has a see-through glass lid. It also comes with a steamer, spoon and measuring cup.
The Hello Kitty 1.5L Jar Type Rice Cooker retails for ₱3,599 (~S$101.20).
