Single’s Inferno Season 3
This year alone, we’ve been treated to a range of Korean variety shows that swept Netflix’s Top 10 charts worldwide: The Devil’s Plan, Physical 100 and Siren: Survive The Island. Despite all these new shows, many of us have been left feeling as if there’s something missing to end the year off in a buzzing mood.
It wasn’t until Single’s Inferno Season 3’s trailer dropped that it hit me — aha, this is what we’ve all been waiting for. Premiering on 12 December 2023, here’s what we can expect, based on the 1-minute trailer.

FYI, the panel of MCs remain the same except for one new addition — Kim Jinyoung, now going by the stage name Dex, who used to be a contestant on Season 2.
As someone who’s been breaking into the Korean entertainment scene, we’re excited to hear Dex’s commentary on the new cast — especially since he had first-hand experience of spending a week on the island Inferno.
For those who may have already forgotten what happened during Seasons 1 and 2, Single’s Inferno is a show that follows 12 attractive singles looking for love while spending a week on an island together.
As per previous seasons, new contestants were introduced halfway through to shake up the current contestants a little. Yes, this means we’re anticipating another fierce competition between the singles of this season too.
While the previous seasons’ highlights include the men’s wrestling game, according to this year’s teaser, it seems like the ladies will be the ones wrestling instead.
The contestants’ faces have yet to be revealed, but in this scene, one male contestant commented, “they’re gritting their teeth”.
Of course, it isn’t a dating reality show without the drama. In one scene, a female contestant seemed to be in distress while holding her head between her hands, saying “this is really driving people insane”.
Couples who successfully matched will be able to enjoy a luxurious hotel stay for a night, at a location known as Paradise. And based on last year, Paradise had gone through a major upgrade, so we’re looking forward to seeing if there are any new elements to this year’s season.
Koreans are known to be more on the conservative side, so one scene that stunned me in the teaser was when a male contestant asked his partner, “wanna sleep together?”
Unfazed by his direct question, the female contestant replied, “sure”, before getting on the bed together with him. Spicy.
There was even a scene of two contestants enjoying a hot tub together, with the female contestant running her hand along the bare arm of her partner.
It seems like the contestants in this season are more daring than before, as there was also a scene of a couple holding hands while walking on the island.
This is contrasted with a male contestant voicing out, “am I cheating on her or something?”, possibly implying that he may be interested in more than one contestant.

At this rate, it feels as if Single’s Inferno has become our yearly dating variety show to look forward to before the year ends. But while we’re already used to some elements, we’re still hoping for new games to spice up the show.
Previously, there were also rumours that a gay white man might be joining the cast. We’re still not sure how this would play out, but we do know one thing about the contestants that’s guaranteed — that they’ll all be attractive hunks and babes.
