Study On Pleasure Gap

As the saying goes: “It takes two to tango.” It is not a solo act when it comes to achieving orgasm during sex. With that being said, menstruation tracking app Flo Health recently released a study on the orgasm gap – the difference between how often men climax more than women – to find out how women can better experience the big O

The study

According to Flo Health, the study is conducted to better understand female sexual pleasure and climax since these areas are still under-researched and under-explored.

The results showed that women would need at least 436 hours more than men to achieve the same number of orgasms in a lifetime. Not only does this confirm men achieve more orgasms than women, but it also highlights the need to normalise the differences in sexual experience for both genders.

Diving deeper into the study, 31% of surveyed men believe that the majority of women can experience orgasm solely through vaginal stimulation. However, in reality, only 18.4% of women are able to do so, and the remaining surveyed women prefer clitoral stimulation.

Interestingly, one professional believes that the reason behind the large orgasm gap is due to a lack of education on the clitoris. Simply put, ahem, some men just can’t seem to locate the sensitive area.

Moving on, the study also showed that 29% of women are embarrassed to tell their partners what they like in sex. While this might not seem like a huge deal to some, you might want to keep in mind that a lack of communication could potentially result in sex injuries. Yikes.

Additionally, 21% of women from the United Kingdom, and 18% from the U.S. also consider masturbation as shameful and embarrassing. As a reminder, there is nothing wrong with self-pleasuring, especially when no one knows you better than yourself.
