Marina Square x Pop Mart Sweet Bean Event
When it comes to collecting figurines, we can’t help but think of one source: Pop Mart. From the excitement of choosing the box you “connect” with the most, to the build-up before the packaging comes off and the grand reveal, unboxing Pop Mart items is not just an action, it’s a whole damn art form.
The brand also keeps it exciting with their creative figurines, especially with their Sweet Bean collection. To celebrate a new launch of the collection’s characters, Pop Mart has collaborated with Marina Square to transform the mall’s central atrium with seasonal decorations and life-size sculptures.

Located right in the heart of Marina Square at the central atrium, it’s hard not to notice this space filled with bright pink decorations and a gigantic gashapon machine. Aptly named The Oh-So-Sweet Bean Christmas event, you can look forward to purchasing some adorable limited edition figurines while you’re here.
The 5-metre tall gashapon machine

The star of the show is the 5-metres tall vibrant red gashapon machine, which you won’t miss when you’re passing by. Have a go at the machine and try your luck – you simply have to be a Marina Square Rewards member and spend $180 at the mall for a turn. Additionally, if you spend $80, you can claim two exclusive Pop Mart and Sweet Bean gift wrappers.
Upon closer inspection, the machine is actually filled to the brim with over 4,500 Pop Mart Gashapon balls, which include mystery collectibles. As a cherry on top, the machine has also been officially certified “Singapore’s Largest Gashapon Machine” by the Singapore Book of Records.

After inserting the token and cranking the Gashapon machine, the ball I received had three adorable Pop Mart figurines inside – Sweet Bean, Dimoo, and Skull Panda, making for the perfect photo op when placed together.

Filled with life-sized sculptures such as this telephone booth one, the space allows you to interact with the figurines and snap some shots while you’re at it. If the sculptures look familiar to you, that’s because they’re modelled after the well-known I Am Here! series.

If you’ve ever dreamed of being on TV, this is your chance to co-star with Sweet Bean. This larger-than-life television set even has a plug and cord at the back to imitate reality.

With Christmas around the corner, check out the Sweet Bean-inspired trees and decorations for an adorable start to the season too.
Sweet Bean also resides in a life-sized fridge, surrounded by sweet treats and a cute frog. Snap a picture inside the fridge for a chill pic.

If you’re a fan of Pop Mart collectibles, you can also buy some figurines for yourself. FYI, the kawaii Sweet Bean Animals Playing series is also available for purchase at the event. Each blind box retails at $18.90.
You can also place a pre-order of the Singapore-exclusive Sweet Bean UFO Catcher, as well as the Gashapon Machine Limited Edition 100% Figures, so you best run, don’t walk.
Additionally, from 19 November 2022 onwards, there will be performances by local acts such as Jason Yu and Jumpstart, complete with several other activities like carolling, for you to hype up your Christmas spirit.

For Marina Square Rewards Members that have a UOB card on hand, you can also head down to the Customer Service Counter at Level 2 to redeem a token for the Gashapon machine.
